i {heart} 2 stamp blog candy

Jen del Muro’s blog, i {heart} 2 stamp, is one of the blogs I enjoy reading. I especially like her Saturday Sketch For You To Try. She is doing a major blog candy giveaway. To enter all you have to do is send a card to the International Student Services Department of Dallas Baptist University. You can send cards too. See below address.

Dallas Baptist University
Attn: Julie Carlisle
3000 Mountain Creek Pkwy
Dallas, TX 75211

Students from over 50 countries then can use these cards to send birthday wishes or hellos to family back home. So last week at Lori’s, I made a birthday card (the second card I talked about in my last post) that I will be sending, along with a few others from my card stash. This card is 4.5 x 4.25.

My First Sketch

I enjoy getting together with my friend Lori, who is a bad blogger. Yeah, I said it, Lori. She has a really good craft room and we always have lots to chat about. We got together last Sunday and I made two cards (the second of which I will be showing you in a later post). The first one, I came up with sketch in my head beforehand. I decided to play with my photo editing software, Corel Paint Shop Pro X, and see if I could do the sketch like I see on so many blogs and I think I succeeded.  What do you think? So below is the sketch and then my card. This card is being mailed to a good friend who happens to like purple like me. I want her to know I’m thinking of her.

Sweet Baby Cameron

Last weekend, James and I traveled to Fort Worth. While we were there, we visited with my sister and her family. Sunday morning after his nap, I got to play with my sweet nephew Cameron. He’s almost 10 months old and utterly adorable. Watching him dance, i.e. shake his booty up and down, to the music of different toys was so much fun. He’s crawling a lot and pulling himself up into a standing position. In no time, I’m sure he’ll be walking. Good luck with the baby proofing Sarah!

2008 Christmas Card

I finished these up the 22nd or 23rd of December. I had help in finishing them. My sister, her husband, my Mom and Dad all helped color in Santa Claus when they were here the weekend before Christmas. Thanks. I initially thought about using liquid applique for Santa’s beard and suit trim, but I decided that would take too long. For 2009, James thinks we should just do a photo Christmas card. We’ll see. Maybe I’ll actually start earlier. I already have an idea of what I want to do.
