A Few of Jessica’s Firsts

Posted on April 5, 2010 by Jennifer

About a week ago, I decided I would see if I could put Jessica’s hair in little pigtails. It worked, but her first pigtails didn’t last long. I will try again soon with a new method of holding it in place. Doesn’t she look cute?

Jessica in Pigtails

Jessica is a little scooting monster. Here’s a video of her scooting action.

She really enjoys going to the park on our afternoon walks (unless she falls asleep before we get there). I think her favorite thing at the park is the springy frog, but I can’t hold her on it and take a picture, so here she is in the swing.

Jessica Swinging Away

On Saturday, we decided to try solid food for the first time. She seemed pretty excited and even slobbered on the rice cereal box.

But then came the actual food and it was a complete failure. She really didn’t want anything to do with it as you can see by this photo.

1st Solid Food

Sunday’s attempt went a bit better. She seems excited about it and opens her mouth, but then once the food is in her mouth, she doesn’t seem to like it.

I love the pigtails, she looks adorable! Riley never liked cereal much by itself either I always had to add some veggies to it:)

maybe you should try Jason’s favorite “airplane” method…

The airplane method does work for Aspen…I’m assuming you are mixing it with breastmilk? I know that helped Aspen at first recognize the taste. Aspen didn’t really get into eating until she started on the veggies. I don’t think the rice cereal taste good to anyone 🙂

Aren’t they called dog ears…or is that just me??

Yeah, I’m mixing the rice cereal with breast milk. Today went a lot better.

Jessica’s looks cute in her dog ears. That was what I grew up calling them. Dawson liked barley cereal. If I added anything, it was fruit. Enjoyed the videos, she is a cutie.

    Love, Mom
