Welcome to the first Texas Tuesday of October (Texas themed cards on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month). October is breast cancer awareness month. October 2nd was World Cardmaking Day. Put those together and you get some fun challenges for a good cause over on Splitcoast Stampers. My two Texas Tuesday cards were made for the Hope You Can Cling To: Bring in the Brown challenge. The cards are being sent to the UT MD Anderson to benefit patients being treated for breast cancer and their families. My Nanny got breast cancer when I was kid and had a mastectomy followed by a brief remission before succumbing to the cancer. It is so important to do mammograms and catch the cancer early enough so that is easily beatable. Some one else I know found it so early that treatment wasn’t too extreme and she is now cancer free.
I decided to do Texas themed brown and pink cards and I decided to do two, because I had some difficulty coming up with the layout. Part of that difficulty stemed from the large size of the sentiment. On the second card, I couldn’t make the sentiment work, so I stuck it on the inside. Which do you like better?
