Lori and I used to get together pretty regularly to stamp together. However, since having Janette, my Sunday afternoons haven’t gelled yet. I have taken Janette with me a few times, but I was never very productive stamping wise. So this time, we got together yesterday night after the girls went to bed. I’m hoping that our stampy get togethers become more regular soon.
I had two cards that I worked on while at Lori’s and finished up this afternoon during nap time, which was actually about an hour.
First up is a card for our good friend Aric’s upcoming birthday. I used The Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #164 for the card layout. I used a technique called Embossed Embossing for Hambo Hoedown Challenge #71. I hand wrote the sentiment strips and I am going to stamp the inside with happy birthday. I am also submitting this card for the following challenges: Just Us Girls Challenge #142 which was an inspiration photo of a hot dog barbeque and Your Next Stamp Challenge #3 which is anything goes.
Stamps: Hambo Stamps – Barbecue Man
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Ballet Blue; silver cardstock from Lori
Designer Paper: Stampin’ Up Summer Picnic
Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Versamark
Embellishments: Stampin’ Up clear embossing powder
Tools: Cuttlebug Diamond Plate and Mosiac embossing folders; Stampin’ Up markers; atYou Spica silver marker
This second card is for our nephew’s 12th birthday in July. I used the June Sketch for You to Try for the card layout. Lori hooked me up with that super cute monster paper. It went perfectly with my stamp set. I am also submitting this card for the following challenges: I was inspired by Disney’s Monster’s Inc for Do You Stack Up Challenge #77.
Stamps: Technique Tuesday – Monsters Ink
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Island Indigo
Designer Paper: monster paper
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Embellishments: The Twinery mandarin; Stampin’ Up Baja Breeze 5/8″ striped grosgrain ribbon
Tools: Martha Stewart Balloon punch; Prismacolor colored pencils; dimensionals

Wow! You’ve posted two great cards. What a neat technique you chose for the Hambo Hoedown. Makes your card have such a nice masculine feel to it.
What fun cards!!! The first one is just perfect for a guy and the second put a smile on my face. Just love the sentiment and twine with the balloons. Thanks so much for sharing your creations and linking up at YNS!!!
