I have a lot of layouts to share today.
First up is week 7 of my P52 2013 layouts. Sadly, I’ve only done weeks 5-8 so far.

Next is a layout our Valentine’s Day this year. Journaling read: “Our church, Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, hosts an annual Valentine’s Day dinner, complete with child care. This year, James and I decided to attend. Dave Wilson provided photography. The food was delicious and consisted of chicken scallopini with angel hair pasta, slow-roasted Tuscan pork with roasted rosemary new potatoes, fresh green beans, homemade focaccia and a variety of desserts served buffet style. It was catered by Beth Watson. Cy Alberston, former music minister, opened for magician Arsene Dupin. The magician selected James and one other audience member to assist in a few tricks. Their assistance to the completely mimed instructions added in some comedy. Afterward, I asked James what he thought about being selected. He said, he could have done without it.”

Jessica took three sessions of swim lessons this summer, for a total of six straight weeks of lessons every day Monday through Thursday. James and I are so proud of progressions. This two-page layout is about the first two-week session. Journaling readings: “Jessica started by not participating at all. The first week, I had to sit on the edge of the pool to even get her to get in the water. The second Monday, 2 of the 4 kids weren’t there and she decided to actually participate. It was like something just clicked. I was so proud.” The layout was my entry in this year’s Scrap It to Win It Contest Week 5 Separation Anxiety to create a double page layout and use at least 5 colors that all have to be separated from the other colors. I won honorable mention in the contest for best journaling for this particular layout. The judges liked that I included the swim lesson report card.

This next layout is from a speed scrap. The quote was required as part of the speed scrap and I thought these photos fit perfectly. Journaling reads: “After dinner, we took the girls on a walk to the neighborhood playground. Janette really loves the slide. James climbs the steps behind her, just in case, and he’ll slide down too. Janette just giggles as she watches him come down after her. Moving people are definitely hard to photograph with the camera on my phone.”

Next up is a layout about my first time meeting my nephew Rylan. It was made during a speed scrap. Journaling reads: “I was so excited that Rylan decided to oblige his Aunt Jennifer and make his world debut while we were still in town for our spring break visit. Janette and Jessica both thought he was pretty cute and Janette kept wanting to touch him.”
Digkit: Amy’s Designs – Fresh New Beginning, Happy Go Lucky, grunge/stamp from Let’s Play

The layout was my entry in this year’s Scrap It to Win It Contest Week 3 Triple Threat to create a layout with 9 elements, 3 papers, and 1 photo, with the twist of using each thing 3 times in the layout.

This one was for a template challenge. Journaling reads: “We all enjoyed an after dinner popsicle, although Janette only ate part of hers.”

This next one was for the Scrap It to Win It Contest Week 4 Out of the Box. We were provided with the 6×6 grid. I thought it was perfect to scrap a lot of photos and so I did a second page to coordinate with Aspen’s 2012 birthday cake layout I shared here. Journaling reads: “There was yummy barbecue for lunch followed by two cakes. Jason decorated the Nemo one and Julia did the one with candles. Aspen received lots of cool presents including a tricycle from her parents. After watching the gift opening, the kids started playing and even hit up the dress-up box in the playroom. They had a lot of fun.”

Today, Jessica and Janette started the 2013-2014 school year.
Jennifer, you did a great job. I enjoyed all of the pictures.
