Happy 30th Birthday Sarah!

My sister turned 30 yesterday on February 4th. Sarah and I have that special bond that only sisters can have. Sometimes I feel like she is the older sister, maybe because she had kids before I did and I often ask for her advice regarding children. Although growing up, I was definitely the bossy older sister. Sarah, I hope you enjoy this card I made you.

I used The Sweet Stop Sketch #143.

My Girl

Today is release day for the fabulous new digikit My Girl by Amy’s Designs. Amy designed it with the color scheme and elements of her daughter’s bedroom in mind.

It is perfect for those girly layouts. I’m sure you could use it for layouts that aren’t too girly, but the rest of the creative team had girl on the brain too. You can see their layouts here.

I have two layouts that use it. One I shared Monday.

Too Cute Layout

The second layout also uses one of the photos from Janette’s newborn photo shoot. This was my favorite from the shoot with Kristie Woodworth Photography. We ordered an 11×14 print of it. I think I will use the layout for the cover page of Janette’s scrapbook album.

Love, Love Me Do

I have a layout to share today that I am really really pleased with how it turned out. It uses 5 of the photos from Janette’s newborn photo shoot by Kristie Woodworth Photography. I was beyond pleased with how the photo shoot went, so if you’re in the Austin area and looking for a photographer, I totally recommend Kristie.

P52 – Weeks 1, 2 and 3

This year I decided that I would do a P52. Basically, this means I will take at least one photo every day of the year and I will make a weekly scrapbook layout with 7 photos for that week and journal the everyday moments. I have been steadily working on it, but I haven’t shared any of it yet. I thought I would do that today. Don’t forget you can click on the images to view bigger.

Cover

This first layout will be the cover when I have all the layouts printed in a bound book at the end of the year. The inspiration for the blocked look and title came from this post by Wishing Well Creations. The poem by William Arthur Ward I included is the January Quote Challenge at Scrapbookbytes.com.

June – Jessica and I spent a week in Midland while most of the interior our new house was painted. Play dates. We bought Jessica a little wading pool for the backyard and we also started visiting our neighborhood pool. We traveled to Corpus Christi with James’ parents and our nephew Dawson for a little fun. James traveled to Toronto for work.

July – Our new washer, dryer and dishwasher were delivered. The anatomical ultrasound was performed and we decided not to find out the gender. Jessica took swimming lessons. Play dates. Dzubinski family reunion at the Antler’s Inn in Kingsland.

August – Play dates. Jessica started Mother’s Day Out at Abiding Love Lutheran Church.

November – James lost his job in AMD’s 1400 employee reduction in force. Jessica had her first dentist appointment. MDO. Play dates. We spent Thanksgiving with the Dzubinski family at my brother’s house. I turned 31 on the 30th.

The Dzubinski family Christmas celebration was held the weekend before Christmas at my parents. We also spent a little time with James’ family while in Midland. We went to Christmas Eve service at SHPC and enjoyed Aric and Kristy’s Christmas Day tradition of fondue. James’ parents and our nephew Dawson arrived the day after Christmas and spent the rest of the month visiting us.
