James’ parents and our nephew Dawson are in town visiting. Yesterday, we all went to Zilker Park to ride the train. We’ve never done that before and I think it is something we will definitely have to do again. Jessica had a blast. Here is a little video of her right before we left the station. I love how she enjoyed yelling “All aboard.”

I wanted to document putting up the Christmas lights on the exterior of our house. With the inside decorations up already, it really made it feel like Christmas. I also learned some new camera tricks in my efforts to capture the lights at night.

Exterior Christmas Lights Layout

Journaling reads: Usually, we put up the exterior lights earlier, but it rained the entire previous weekend, so the lights didn’t go up until Saturday, December 10th. It took a little longer than normal to get everything put in place since having a new home caused last year’s plan to be obsolete. Jessica enjoyed helping out by taking each strand of lights out of the plastic bags there were stored in.

I felt that Sketch Savvy 12×12 Sketch #69 was perfect for this layout.

Today is release day for a new scrapping digi-kit by Amy’s Designs called Flashback. It has a bunch of music related elements and a black and pink color scheme.

Journaling reads: I set Janette in her bouncer so we could we eat dinner. While we ate, she snoozed and while she snoozed, she somehow pulled her right arm out of her sleeve. It was so cute.

Decorating the Tree

Journaling reads: At the beginning of December, I like to put on Christmas carols and decorate the the Christmas tree. This year, Jessica was old enough to help. She started off placing ornaments on the tree, but then she decided it would be more fun to help Daddy take the ornaments out of boxes, while I hung them. Janette slept the entire time.
