Wildflowers and Sunshine and Template Pack 41

Posted on August 2, 2018 by Jennifer

I am loving Heidi and Lori’s contribution to the Gingerscraps Buffet this month. Available EXCLUSIVELY at Gingerscraps this month.

Bring the fun of summertime to your scrapbooking pages with Wildflowers & Sunshine. This sunny, whimsical kit injects pops of warmth and fun to your page with a color palette drawn from wildflowers, sunny days, and the rich summer sky twinkling with stars. Don’t let the title fool you though – there’s more to this kit than just flowers! Featured elements include a tent, a camper, a backward, a campfire (complete with marshmallows), a canteen, a lantern, moon and stars, a canoe, a compass, a flashlight, and an owl. There’s plenty of flowers, sunshine, and greenery too. There’s even a cute doodled alpha and a collection of bottle cap word art to round out your layouts. So spend your days soaking up the summer sun and your nights scrapping those stories with Wildflowers & Sunshine.

This kit is Scraps N Pieces’ August 2018 Buffet kit.  You can buy the cardstocks, papers, elements, and alpha separately or in the combined kit.  Template Pack 41 sold separately.

And here’s brand new Template Pack 41. These templates were all inspired by ME and the layouts I created.

I have three layouts to share today. The first one uses one of the templates. They all document our American Heritage Girls Troop 1516 Spring 2017 family campout.

These next two document the hike we took. I still need to finish the layout about the cliff swallows we saw on the hike.

Boy… Trouble

Posted on January 1, 2017 by Jennifer

Little boys can be trouble, but you have to love them just the same.  This kit will help you capture all of your little boys adventures from forts to wooden swords, frogs to puppy dogs, and slingshots and snails.  The masculine color palette is perfect for all kinds of layouts.  Take pictures of flying paper airplanes and climbing trees with Boys… Trouble.

I just love how this kit turned our for January’s Bits-N-Pieces. You can get any of these parts for only $1.00 each at Scraps-n-Pieces.

I decided to scrap some of the photos from the girls’ first camping trip with their American Heritage Girls’ scout troop this past fall. We had a lot of fun at Bastrop State Park and have plans to go camping again soon.

Do you have a bucket list of activities for January?  If you are following in the forum for this years Project Life challenge, you will want this kit to scrap your fun activities.

Some people spend the winter bundled up in front of the fire, while others spend every moment they can playing in the snow. My Life… January makes it easy to document those cold winter days, however you choose to spend them. This cool-colored kit draws on snowy hues and textures for seasonally-appropriate scrapping. My Life… January is packed full of everything you need all month long, including playful patterned papers, adorable doodled elements, journal cards and tags galore, thematic word art, and a frosty wire alpha. Featured elements include mittens, a snowman, skis, a snowboard, ice skates, and snowflakes everywhere. There’s even a quick page and a calendar page to speed up your scrapping. So bundle up and enjoy all the fun this new year has to offer with My Life… January.

Watch for this series continuing throughout the year.  You can also purchase the kit separately from the the add-ons.

Posted on September 10, 2016 by Jennifer

Autumn-lovers rejoice as the temperatures drop, the leaves change colors, and we can swap shorts for jeans. The latest kit from Scraps N Pieces, Autumn in New England, celebrates the changing seasons in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. This rich, autumnal kit combines the reds, golden yellows, and browns of the changing leaves with neutral grays, tans, and creams for scrapping timeless memories. Featured elements include lighthouses, lobsters, ephemera, covered bridges, and changing leaves galore. Autumn in New England also comes with a weathered wood alpha and matching wooden sign word strips for labeling your pages in style. Grab a warm beverage and scrap your favorite fall photos with Autumn in New England.

I have two layouts to share. They’re both from our 2008 autumn visit to Lost Maples State Natural Area.

James’ First Camping Trip – Garner State Park

Posted on December 29, 2008 by Jennifer

Can you believe that my husband had never been camping prior to 2 months ago? We camped at Garner State Park with our friends Aric and Kristy and their dog Dalton, and our friend Ranger the last weekend in October. On the way there Saturday morning, we stopped at Lone Star Motorcycle Museum and Ace Cafe. This was really a neat place to stop and eat lunch. You can check out the classic and modern motorcycles while you wait for your burger or Australian meat pie to cook up. It also gave us perfect timing to arrive at Garner State Park about 1:30 and get our campsite so we could set up our tents.

We hiked the Bridges trail where the view from the scenic overlook at the top was worth the steep climb. I was the self-proclaimed camp cook for the weekend and dinner Saturday was delicious Camp Chicken Cordon Blue cooked over our campfire grill.

Sunday morning, we walked by the river near our campsite and played some cards. After a tasty lunch of grilled ham/turkey and cheese sandwiches, we hiked the trail along Horseshoe Canyon. Unfortunately, the rockiness of the trails was hard on poor Dalton’s feet and he and Kristy turned back and just hung out while we went up to the Crystal Cave. On the return hike, we saw the cutest little armadillo.

Sunday night was a lot more quiet as there were only a handful of campsites occupied compared to the handful that were unoccupied Saturday night. We ate chicken fajitas for dinner, roasted marshmallows over the campfire for smores and had to shoo a skunk away from our campsite by hissing at it.

Monday morning, we packed up and headed to nearby Lost Maples State Natural Area where we hiked the Maple Trail and a portion of the East trail.

Over all, our camping trip was a lot of fun and I think we’re going to have to plan another one or two for the spring.
