In the Army

Posted on January 29, 2011 by Jennifer

Wednesday, I mentioned I was finished with Christmas related posts, but I forgot I haven’t shared some crafty stuff I did for Christmas yet. This layout is one I made and framed for our friends Nick and Stephanie. I had been thinking about doing this for them ever since Kristy and Aric’s Halloween party. The picture I took of them in their costumes turned out so well. I was inspired by the Creative Scrappers Sketch #134. I flipped the sketch for my take on it. I really like how it turned out and think I might do something similar for the picture of the three of us from the same party. What do you think?

An Imaginisce Birthday Layout

Posted on November 22, 2010 by Jennifer

I picked up the Imaginisce B-Day Bash paper pack and coordinating embellishments at the scrapbooking convention I went to with Kristy in September. I thought it would work great with all the kids’ birthday parties. So I ordered some prints from my niece’s first birthday party from ScrapbookPictures.com, a new photo site I tried out for a digital scrapbook project I am working on.  I had wanted to play along with Imaginisce’s monthly sketch in October with these pictures, but I ended up being too busy getting ready for Jessica’s first birthday party. I think this November sketch worked better with the pictures though, so I’m kinda glad I didn’t have time. What do you think of my take on the sketch?

My Take on the Imaginisce November Sketch

I decided to do a coordinating second page for the rest of the pictures I deemed scrapbook worthy. And then I wondered where there was room for the journaling. You might look at this page and wonder “I don’t see any journaling.” Well, I’m sneaky like that. That little red rectangle with the present hides the journaling that will pop out like a jack-in-the-box. That space wasn’t big enough for all I wanted to say (thank you blog post on said party for providing what to say) and so I got creative. What do you think?

Nanny’s Little Ghost and a Pink Holiday Card

Posted on October 14, 2010 by Jennifer

I have two crafty things to share with you today.

First up is a scrapbook layout based on Creative Scrappers Sketch #125. I really had fun with this sketch. To make my two ghost embellishments, I ended up tracing the ghost from a sticker that had a circle around the ghost in the wrong color and then tracing him from the backside for the second ghost. I’m sure my Mom will love this layout as it is a great picture of her and Jessica.

Second, I have a card made for the Hope You Can Cling To: Pink Holiday challenge. This card will go to MD Anderson. I actually made a 2nd card just like it minus the stickles to go to Operation Write Home. Their deadline for holiday cards is fast approaching. I used the Get Sketchy Sketch #59. This is a new challenge blog I discovered through Debbie Standard’s blog. I loved her take on the sketch and was inspired to try out the sketch too. This card also meets the requirements of A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge #125 to make a winter wonderland creation. I stamped the inside with the Happy Holidays and winter mitten from the same stamp set.

This is a layout I started at the scrapbooking convention crop back in June, but I didn’t finish until recently. I used Ella’s Pink Scrapbook Challenge #10, which was a sketch. I’m really happy with how the layout turned out.

Imaginisce July Sketch

Posted on July 21, 2010 by Jennifer

This month’s Imaginisce sketch is actually a card sketch, but I was inspired by Aphra and Cari‘s scrapbooking takes on the sketch.

I picked out some pictures of my cutie-patootie and came up with the following layout. I’m loving these Imaginisce monthly sketches as it really gets me in the groove to scrapbook my baby girl.
