I have three layouts to share with you today. First up is a layout with pictures of my grandparent’s summer garden when I was a kid. It was humongous. That’s my sister in the smaller photo, looking towards the road in front of their house. That’s my Mom and I stooped down with my sister and grandfather behind us. I think we might be picking blackberries. I have vague recollections of blackberries.

This second layout contains pictures of the rooftop garden at the Fairmont Waterfront hotel in Vancouver, where we stayed last month before our Alaskan cruise. Journaling reads: Since we had a little time before our bus picked us up for our morning tour, we headed up to level three to explore the rooftop gardens. Located on the south side of the hotel tower, the kitchen garden contained a variety of fruits and veggies.

I really love this kit. In fact, I love it so much, I made three layouts this week using it. First up is a commemorative type page of one of my favorite teachers from high school. Journaling reads: Frau Hayes was my German teacher 10th through 12th grade. She was one of my absolute favorite teachers. I loved her class. She made learning a new language fun and interesting. The cultural aspects of German class were a lot of fun too. We prepared German food and then took turns being the waiter or the restaurant patron, while only speaking German. It was an opportunity to try food like steak tartar. I loved participating in German compeition, espcially Pass Auf, a team trivia type event. Our practices outside of school were held at Frau Hayes’ house. She had the most amazing cuckoo clock. At Christmas, we always would search for the pickle ornament on her tree. I kept in touch after graduation and even invited her to my bridal shower.
