Tags #6-10

Posted on January 4, 2011 by Jennifer

Granted, Christmas is over. However, I haven’t shared all my tags yet, so here’s five more.

This first one is for my mother-in-law. Her favorite color is purple.

Olivia's Tag

Stamps: C.C. Designs Harp Angel
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Dell printer
Embellishments: Stampin’ Up grosgrain ribbon Elegant Eggplant; glitter; eyelet; Recollections mulberry paper rose
Tools: Stampin’ Up markers; atYou Spica gold; Nestabilities Labels Four; glue pen

Here, you can see it on the present. Isn’t that gold ribbon pretty? I reused it from a gift I received.

Olivia's Present

The next one is my friend Jillan’s daughter, Lillie. I made her a little Christmas present, which I will share in another post. Lillie likes red, but she calls it pink, so I decided to use both red and pink.

Lillie's Tag

Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Real Red, Pretty in Pink
Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Dell printer
Embellishments: satin ribbon from stash; glitter; eyelet; Robin’s Nest early dawn dew drop
Tools: Stampin’ Up markers; Copic markers; Nestabilities Labels Four, snowflake die; white gel pen; glue pen

This one is for James’ sister Tami. It is very similar to Lillie’s tag, except I ended up not adding a snowflake. Yep, her favorite color is purple too.

Then we have the tag for my father-in-law.

Embellishments: Stampin’ Up 1/2″ striped grosgrain ribbon Real Red; Stickles Xmas Red; eyelet
Tools: Stampin’ Up markers; Copic markers; Nestabilities Labels Four; Martha Stewart Snow Flurry border punch

And lastly (for today), this is the tag for my nephew Cameron. I kinda wish I had swapped the ribbon I used on Joe’s tag with the ribbon I used on Cameron’s tag, but oh well.

Cameron's Tag

Stamps: Close to My Heart Merry Pursuits
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Real Red, Garden Green
Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Dell printer

I still have a few tags to share and I hope to share some scrapbook pages using the tags as embellishments, but I don’t know when I will get to that as I have some other scrapbooking priorities.

Thanks for stopping by.

Tags #4 and #5

Posted on December 22, 2010 by Jennifer

Today I’m sharing the Christmas tags I made for our friends Aric and Kristy.

Aric’s tag was made with the Just Us Girls Challenge #64, a color challenge to use light blue, green and white.

Aric's Tag

Stamps: Close to My Heart Merry Pursuits
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Garden Green
Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Dell printer
Embellishments: Stampin’ Up 5/8″ satin ribbon Bashful Blue; Stickles Holly; eyelet
Tools: Stampin’ Up markers; Copic markers; Nestabilities Labels Four

I made sure to use red as the main color for Kristy’s tag, since that is her favorite color. I recently bought two Copic markers, E00 and E000, so I could color faces better, but I am a tad frustrated as every time I’ve used them they blend the black ink used to stamp the image. Anyone in blogland have any suggestions about using a different type of ink? The only time I didn’t have that issue was when I used a digi stamp that I had printed about 3 weeks earlier. I’ve even tried heat setting the stamped image and it still blended.

Close-up to See All the Sparkle

Stamps: Close to My Heart Merry Pursuits
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Real Red

Embellishments: grosgain ribbon; Stickles Xmas Red and Icicle; Stampin’ Up pewter eyelet
Tools: Stampin’ Up markers; Copic markers; Nestabilities Labels Four

Tag #3

Posted on December 7, 2010 by Jennifer

Normally, I don’t like to do more than one blog post in a day, but I had planned to get this posted yesterday, but didn’t have time and today’s the deadline for the challenge.

Today’s tag was made for my niece, Aspen. I had a lot of fun with this tag, even if I did have to stamp it three times and I still had a tad too much pressure in some spots. Oh well. I followed my friend Lori’s suggestion and waited a day before heating up the liquid applique and it did allow for a more uniform raised look. I also added some glossy accents to the ornaments for dimension. Today’s tag meets the requirements for the All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge #56 to use snowflakes.

Aspen's Gift Tag

Stamps: C.C. Designs Christmas Around the World
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Dell printer
Embellishments: Stampin’ Up 5/8″ striped grosgrain ribbon Baja Breeze; Robin’s Nest early dawn dew drop; eyelet
Tools: Stampin’ Up markers; white gel pen; Inkssentials Glossy Accents; liquid applique

Another Christmas Tag

Posted on December 2, 2010 by Jennifer

This tag is for my youngest nephew, Trevor. It meets the requirements of this week’s Our Creative Corner Challenge to make a tag. It also meets the requirements of Prairie Fairy Friday Challenge #40 to use buttons and bows. Although, I’m not completely sure of the time cut-off on the Prairie Fairy challenge. And it meets the requirements of the Diecut Dreams Christmas Club Challenge #45 to use a die cut. This time instead of hand-writing the name and year, I ran it through the printer and I have to say, I prefer the more professional look of printed type. I really like how it turned out, even if I wish I had only used the border punch on the potion of the top piece that overlays the image panel.

Trevor's Christmas Tag

Like the last tag I shared, I used liquid applique and glitter to give sparkle to the tag. Be prepared, there might be a lot of liquid applique used on my Christmas tags.

Close-up of the Sparkle

Stamps: Stampin’ Up Holiday Tag Team
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Stazon Jet Black; Dell printer

A Christmas Tag

Posted on November 30, 2010 by Jennifer

Since I decided not to hand make Christmas cards this year (don’t worry, I’m sending out a picture card instead), I thought I would make handmade Christmas tags. At least, I plan to make them for all the kiddos. I’m going to put 2010 and their name on the tag, and I thought it would make a good embellishment for a quick Christmas layout after the gift is opened. This first tag is for my nephew Dawson, the oldest of my nieces and nephews. Since I used a C.C. Designs image, it meets the requirements for the All That Scraps Weekly Wednesday Challenge #55 to make a tag.

Dawson's Christmas Tag

And here’s a close-up of all the sparkle.

Tag Close-up

Stamps: C.C. Designs Christmas Around the World
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Very Vanilla, Real Red
Ink: Stazon Jet Black
Embellishments: green grosgrain ribbon; The Twinery Maraschino twine; Liquid Applique; ultra-fine holographic glitter (on top of Liquid Applique)
Tools: Nestabilites Labels Three; Stampin’ Up markers; atYou Spica clear marker

Now to wrap his gifts so I can attach the tag.

Thanks for stopping by.
