Can you believe we’re already in month 8 for the year? It seems way too fast. I was actually quite surprised how fast the summer flew by. Without my oldest at MDO, I thought for sure I would be worn out and pulling my hair out by the end of summer. Surprisingly, I’m not. Although six weeks of daily swim lessons, Monday through Thursday have probably helped.
Anyway, you’re not here to listen to me chat. You’re here to see the latest installment in Queen Wild Scraps P52 series, Awesome August. And it is awesome, like totally dude. 🙂 There’s elements to help you document your summer vacation, to document the first day back to school, and a wide variety of generic elements to document the everyday moments.
You can pick it up for just $3.00 through August 29th. That’s a savings of 50%.
Now onto the inspiration. The Wild Princesses have busy putting together some awesome layouts to show you.
Beth has three layouts to really show the versatility of Awesome August. From camping to wine tasting to smiles, this kit does it all.
Cindy has two layouts that use the recently released Something Simple Templates. Today is the last day to pick them up for new release rate of 50% off.
Henriett has two layouts that really showcase the different colors in the kit. Her first kit really highlights the blues which match so well with her son’s shirt. The second is more muted with gray as the primary color, which just makes the photos pop.
Kandice also used a Something Simple Template. That chevron paper really compliments her son’s plaid shirt.
Kristal has a fun layout about school.
I love the yellow in Loni’s title.
Mary has two layouts. I really love how she journal right on the photo in the second one.
Tina has an awesome blended photo on her layout.
Here’s a great kit for the final days of Summer and transitioning into early Autumn. Sunflower fields are abundant here and I love driving past them and seeing all those cheery yellow flowers looking at the sun.
This is a nice sized kit – 41 elements, 16 papers and an alpha of Uppercase, Lowercase and some Punctuation.
This kit is available at Heritage Scrap and Scraps N Pieces
Here is the layout I made using this kit. Journaling reads: Growing up, I didn’t see many wild sunflowers. The dry windswept landscape of west Texas isn’t the sunflower’s native habitat. When I moved to San Antonio to attend UTSA and work summers at TxDOT, I started noticing the sunflowers that would line the sides of the road and fill empty fields. They would show up near the end of May. Now in Austin, I still see them and to me, they signal the start of summer.

Amy’s Designs has a new kit out. I just love the color palette.
You can pick it up for $1.50 until next Thursday, before it goes up to its regular price of $2.99.
I knew it would be perfect to scrap some photos for the album I’m working on for my parents. I went rather simple with the embellishments to let the photos shine. These Lake Louise photos my Dad took are just stunning.
Can you believe August is already half way over?
