Five Layouts

I realized I have a back log of layouts I haven’t shared here on my blog yet, so here are a number of them in no particular order.

I’m really happy with how this next layout, a speed scrap layout, turned out. I made it shortly after finding out my Dad had been diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to document how I am really my father’s daughter. It garnered me a layout of the day award at Scrapbookbytes.

Journaling reads: My Dad and I both enjoy taking photos and planning trips. I definitely know that my desire to type up an itinerary and label my photos comes from him. We also both like to read historical markers and look at maps. Out of all of my siblings, I am the only one who takes just as many photos of the architecture as my Dad. He’s always there when I need his advice. I can’t imagine life without him.

Cinderella’s Castle

Scraps N Pieces offered a six-week photoshop techniques workshop and it was free. I had a lot of fun learning how to use the PSE11 I purchased back in November. Previously, I used Corel Paintshop Pro for photo editing and Serif CraftArtist for digital scrapbooking. Now I can use PSE11 for both, although I will still be using CA for most of digital scrapbooking. It is so easy to use.

Our last week of class including cloning, healing and dodge burn techniques. I was ecstatic when I found out what the techniques for the week were, because I had the perfect photo to edit. When we went on our Disney cruise back in January, we had one day to spend at Disney World. We chose to only visit Magic Kingdom on our park hopper pass. Going during the slow season has it’s downsides, construction. The construction didn’t really affect our enjoyment of the park, but it did effect my enjoyment of this photo. Softly Comes Spring

What a busy busy day today is!  Besides being Easter Monday, and April Fool’s Day, it is also release day for True North Scraps.  And what a day of releases it is.  No foolin’!

First of all, Dawna did a little switcheroo.  She put Stormy in her store at Scraps N Pieces this month, and Fresh as a Daisy is finally available at her Heritage Scrap store, making them available in both stores now.

Both of these kits are $5.00, but for this week only, they are 30% off!  And just to make things fair, they are on sale at both stores!

There’s also another kit releasing today: Softly Comes Spring

This kit was inspired by the colour palette.  Dawna just fell in love with the colours and let them take her where they wanted.  The result is a non-traditionally coloured spring kit that will amaze you with its versatility.

There are 40 elements and 15 papers as well as a full alpha of uppercase, lowercase and numbers.

I do not have a layout to share with you today, but maybe another day.
