Happy Go Lucky

Posted on March 2, 2012 by Jennifer

Today is release day for a new digital scrapbooking kit by Amy’s Designs. It is a St. Patrick’s Day themed kit, but is versatile enough to scrap a variety of photos.

I scrapped some older photos of Jessica. First up are some photos taken at a playground last April. Journaling reads: Sunday, April 3, 2011 It was such a pretty spring day, with temperatures in the low 80°s. After Jessica’s afternoon nap we headed to Mills Elementary School to check out the playground. She especially enjoyed “driving.”

This second layout is from the speed scrap last night and the photo is from Jessica’s First St. Patrick’s Day. Journaling reads: St. Patrick’s Day isn’t a holiday with a lot of celebration for us. I try to make sure James and I both wear green, but that is typically all we do. Jessica’s First St. Patrick’s Day was no different, except she did have special St. Patrick’s Day socks. Anniversary Card

Posted on February 29, 2012 by Jennifer

Yesterday, James and I celebrated our eighth anniversary. Celebrated is used loosely here, since all we did was exchange cards. This coming Saturday night we’re going out to dinner.

The card I made him uses Jen del Muro’s February Sketch for You to Try.

February Sketch for You to Try

I had intended to do our wedding colors, silver and purple, but I didn’t find the right pattern paper to make that work.

Anniversary Card for James

Stamps: Pollycrafts – Cuthbert and Kiki Wedding; TLC Creations – Wonderful Husband sentiment; Ginger’s House – Perfect inside sentiment
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black
Designer Paper: Stampin’ Up Welcome Neighbor

Accessories: Dress It Up white heart buttons; The Twinery Caribbean
Tools: Spellbinders Large Circle Nestabilities; Stampin’ Up corner rounder punch; Copic markers; Prismacolor colored pencils

I also decorated the inside.

Who Does Jessica Look Like – Part III

Posted on February 26, 2012 by Jennifer

You might remember back in April 2010, I did two posts comparing Jessica to photos of James and I when we were babies: Part I was newborn and Part II was 2-3 months old.  For this segment, I am comparing Jessica to James and I at age 2. I might go back and do some in between ages, but we’ll see.

This picture of Jessica puts her at 2 years and 4 months old.

Compare this to James at approximately 2 years and 5 months old.

James, Easter 1982

The age on the photo of me is a little trickier. Based on my clothing, it was either in the spring or summer of 1983, possibly even the fall. This means I was anywhere from 2 years and 4 months old to 2 years and 10 months old.

Jennifer, Spring/Summer 1983

You can definitely tell Jessica shares our DNA. At age 2, we all had the same hair color. I think Jessica looks more like me, but it could be a girl thing. Jessica definitely has some of her Daddy’s personality traits though.

I decided to make a scrapbook layout with these three photos.
