January Happenings at SNP

December is gone and the new year begins. We have lots of fun in store for you this January at Scraps N Pieces. Take a look at the new goodies coming out!

Twas the Night Before Christmas

I have two layouts to share and I need to make at least one or two more. These are from a visit to the town of Llano’s Christmas light trail. This was actually the second time we visited this year. The first was the Saturday after Thanksgiving on the way back to Austin and this time was again on the way back to Austin from a trip to Midland, this time for our Christmas celebration with family.

Holly Jolly Christmas

Today is the last day for GGI at Gotta Pixel.

Word Art World has a really cute Christmas kit, Holly Jolly Christmas, as part of GGI. You can pick it up in pieces or as the full kit.

I have two layouts. They document a trip to Home Depot in Midland over Thanksgiving for a building workshop and surprisingly a Santa visit.

A Magical Christmas, Alphabet Soup Q-T, and Quick Page Packs

First there is a mini kit add-on that coordinates with The Mouse and His Friends kit. The add-on is all about Christmas in that magical place and is called A Magical Christmas. I used this fun add-on to make my in-law’s Christmas card.

Seize the Day

What’s old is new again and the world is taking notice. Scraps N Pieces’ latest kit Seize The Day is a vintage-inspired scrapbooking page that harkens back to the “good ol’ days” when scrapbooks were full of newspaper clippings. This kit’s muted color palette and newsprint accents makes it a timeless classic, perfect for heirloom pages and modern memories alike. Seize The Day makes great nods to bygone days with pageboy caps, vintage cars, lucky dice, playing cards, and a saxophone that seems to be playing jazz. Newsies is one of my favorite movies. I had a big crush on Christian Bale back in the day and loved him in Newsies and Swing Kids, so I knew I wanted to work with this kit as soon as I saw it. However, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to scrap with it. My friend Mona makes her own Victorian style clothes and hats and I asked her if she could send me a few photos of her in her creations.
