Angles and Arrows

Here’s my two layouts using two of the four templates. Both of them contain relatively recent photos of my big girl. The first layout showcases her favorite activity, crafting. Journaling reads: Jessica loves arts and crafts. She spends time each day creating. Today, during Janette’s nap, I let her get out the paints. Second up is even more recent. This was the first of what will potentially be many times of Jessica playing with my hair. Reminds me of when I was a kid and my sister would play with my hair. Journaling reads: Jessica spent almost an hour brushing my hair and putting clips, bows, and barrettes in it. She kept asking me if I wanted to look like Fancy Nancy or Rapunzel. We then had a fun photo shoot.

Recently, Queen Wild Scraps was featured on The Daily Digi with a fun science themed kit, Alchemy. Today, Lahni is releasing Alchemy at SNP. Did you know that she used to be a high school science teacher? Alchemy really showcases her love of science. Here is my layout using Alchemy. I went with a pre-digital camera photo from when I was in college of my friends during a study session. Journaling reads: All engineering students, not just civil engineering majors, at UTSA were required to take Applied Engineering Analysis I. This class was all about ordinary differential equations and laplace transform. This class was also where I met Gio and Brian, two mechanical engineering students. Along with Armando and George, who became my surveying partners the previous semester, we would get together in the John Peace Library to work on our homework. We’d hope one of the study rooms would be available. then even though we worked quietly on our own, we could work through problems that stumped us on the white board together. Even after our “diffi q” class ended, we’d still take advantage of study time in the library all together.

Here are my layouts using The Good Life Vol 6. The first layout uses Beach Trip by True North Scraps. You can check out this post for details regarding the kit. Journaling reads: After checking out of our hotel in Holland, we drove to Holland State Park. We spent the rest of the morning checking out the lighthouse, and walking along the beach. My second layout is for my P52 project for this year. I’m a little behind, but I went ahead and skipped forward to week 19. Journaling reads: Wednesday when I brought Jessica to school, I handed one of the wrapped thumbprint trees for her teachers to her and one to a classmate for them to deliver to Ms. Erin and Ms. Maria. The kids were so excited to help them open the trees they helped create. After my weekly walk with Beini, I went to Target and picked up the $25 gift card for each of them and dropped those off when I picked the girls up from school. Teacher appreciation week was a hit. Thursday, was the last MOPS meeting until September. I’ve really enjoyed the conversation at my Green Table. That afternoon was Jessica’s swim lesson. Late that night my parents arrived. Friday morning, my parents watched the girls with their bicycle/tricycle on the driveway while James and I cleaned up breakfast and packed the car. Then we hit the road to Houston for the weekend. On the way, we stopped in Bastrop for lunch and Brenham to visit the Blue Bell Ice Creameries for a tour and snack. Saturday, we went to the zoo, which was awesome. Sunday, we enjoyed the Houston Museum of Natural HIstory. After a late lunch, we returned to Austin. Monday, was low key with lots of dress-up time. Making Pillsbury biscuits with the girls is always a hit. Tuesday morning was Janette’s parent/teacher conference. We are so proud of her accomplishments this year. Janette enjoyed some dress-up after school, before we went to the YMCA for Jessica’s swim lesson.

Beach Trip

I love lighthouses. They are so cool! Needless to say, the two lighthouses in Beach Trip are my favorite part. Today, I’m sharing one layout using Beach Trip. Make sure and come back next Thursday when I’ll share another one. Today’s layout is from our 2005 trip to Michigan and Chicago.
