It Looks Familiar

Check out a recent release by True North Scraps. It Looks Familiar has a real vintage feel to it. You can pick it up at Scraps-N-Pieces now and from Go Digital Scrapbooking and Heritage Scrap at the first of May. There’s a bonus add-on too.

I decided to browse my collection of vintage pictures. These two photos of Tami with my in-laws worked perfect color-wise. James is currently about the same age his Dad was in this photo. I can really see the family resemblance.

Color Pop

Word Art World has a great new kit out. Color Pop has neutral papers with colorful elements, allowing you to make layouts that really pop. It’s a huge kit with 191 elements and 20 papers plus an alpha that comes in nine colors. You can pick it up at Gotta Pixel or Gingerscraps.

I have two layouts to share using Color Pop. For the first, I highlighted just a single color with the black and white papers. Journaling reads: I pulled out the water table for the first time this year. Jessica and Janette had a lot of fun. They both got quite wet and wanted to go put on their swim suits. I should have known that was going to happen. I told them they could put on dry clothes when they were finished playing, but we didn’t have time to go put swim suits on and come back outside and play. They decided to strip down to undies/diaper. Their happiness made me happy. I love to watch them learn and have fun. March 17, 2014

The second highlights photos from our anniversary celebration this year. I ended up adjusting the color of James’ shirt slightly so the blue fit more with the turquoise in the kit. Journaling reads: We celebrated our tenth anniversary by having dinner at Baby Acapulco followed by an evening of comedy at the Long Center. The Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood: Two Man Group show was very funny.

Not So Simple

Queen Wild Scraps has a new template set releasing today, Not So Simple. There are lots of photo spots, so these are perfect for events and vacations where you have a lot of photos. They’re also perfect if you’re like me and take a ton of photos and can’t make up your mind which photos to scrap. You could also fill some of the photo spots with some pretty papers you want to show off.

Here’s my layout. It’s from our visit to the Austin Rodeo over spring break. Journal reads: During Spring Break, Beini and I decided that our families, minus James since he couldn’t get off work, would meet up at the Austin Rodeo. We arrived just in time for the K9 Kings Dog Show in the Wild West Show Building. It was mostly dogs catching frisbees. I was expecting more tricks. We then headed to Ol’ McDonald’s barn to check out the animals. Jessica, Janette, Lana and even Eddy in his stroller thought they were pretty cool. While there, horses and their riders were getting ready for competition in the practice corral. A cowgirl who hadn’t entered the practice corral yet, let all the kiddos come up and pet her horse. That was really cool.

Simple Pleasures

Here is my layout using Simple Pleasures. Journaling reads: Jessica enjoys playing games and watching video clips on the computer. Since our computers are in the study and Daddy works from home, she doesn’t get to play on the computer very often. Today, while Daddy was in Florida for work, she was able to enjoy some computer time during Janette’s nap. She wanted to wear the headphones just like Daddy does.
