Digital Scrapbooking – Page 57

Who’s Ready for iDSD?

Posted on November 3, 2015 by Jennifer

Every fall, the first weekend of November, the digi-scrap world celebrates our version of Super Bowl weekend or Mardi Gras. It’s , or more commonly known as DSD (or iDSD for International Digital Scrapbook Day). This isn’t to be confused with NSD in May. That is National Scrapbook Day, celebrating all forms of the craft, both digital and traditional.

We at Scraps N Pieces take both weekends seriously and look forward to it, both in the planning of it and celebrating it with our members and friends. This year is no exception! Scrapbooking at its core is to collect and preserve memories through craft. We want to focus on how we capture those memories this year with Capture My World.

Members can participate in various challenges and events, earning along the way, coupons to shop in our store, but also get pieces to our newest DSD collab, Capture My World for FREE. Some challenges will be posted starting Wednesday, November 4, with new challenges posted through the weekend. We even tack on extra time so you don’t miss out on the fun. If you want reminders, be sure to join our SNP Chatter group on Facebook where event reminders are available.

Because coupons and the free kit aren’t enough, the designers have decided to try out a different kind of freebie hop this year. Instead of just Facebook or just our blogs, we’re posting freebies all over the place. We want to connect with you and keep you In the Know, whether it’s on social media, blogs, but especially through our designer newsletters. Be sure to head over to (get registered if you’re new), and sign up for the newsletters listed, “like” the Facebook pages, and bookmark the blogs in your browser’s favorites. You won’t want to miss all the awesome-ness the designers will have for you starting on Thursday!

So be sure to join in on the fun and post your layouts in the gallery so we can all leave love (be sure to copy them to our DSD gallery as well). Enjoy!

If you’re new to digi-scrapbooking or new to SNP, check out the FAQ or Need Help threads, and we’ll get someone to help you as soon as possible.

I have two layouts. First up is one that I made for part of my sister-in-law’s Christmas gift. I will also make a pedigree chart for her with this kit.

This second layout is a picture of my grandfather and four of his seven siblings.

Plan On It

Posted on November 2, 2015 by Jennifer

So excited, I’m guesting for Connie Prince again this month. Yesterday, was the release of the Gingerscraps Buffet. You can see the entire Buffet collection on Ginger Scraps here: tr.im/bkoez

I was inspired by the word strip that read “today’s menu” and knew I had to find some food related pictures. Initially, I looked at some Christmas pictures from 2008, but the colors just didn’t work and I switched to a Thanksgiving layout. If that pie looks appealing, here’s the recipe: Cran-Apple Pie. Journaling reads: Jason and Sarah both planned to attend the UT/A&M football game in Austin on Friday, so it would have been a very short holiday in Midland for them. James and I offered to host Thanksgiving at our apartment. Mom, Dad, and Sarah stayed at our apartment for the extended weekend. Jason’s friend Grant joined us too for our big Thanksgiving meal served as a late lunch. I made a cran-apple pie and homemade cranberry sauce in advance. We also had turkey, a garden salad with almonds and oranges, and green bean casserole.
