I decided to scrap this year’s first Santa encounter. My OB/GYN’s office does a Santa encounter each year with Steve Armstrong Photography providing a free photograph. This year was the first I was aware of it. Jessica didn’t want to sit on Santa’s lap, but didn’t have any problem sitting on the wrapped box next to him. We almost couldn’t get Janette to even sit next to Jessica. Yet, this picture turned out extremely adorable.

When I saw this kit, I knew I had the perfect photos for it. I had gone with my parents when they took my girls and my neice Aspen on a Polar Express ride. I made a double page spread using one of the templates from the December template bundle. Journaling reads: We ended our day trip to Lubbock with a ride on the Polar Express via the West Texas and Lubbock Railway. Nanny and Papa bought special tickets that provided each of the cousins with their own wrapped copy of The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg. We all drank hot cocoa and ate cookies. About midway through the trip we arrived at the North Pole and Santa came aboard the train. On the way back to the station, all the girls danced in the aisle with the elves. Aspen, Jessica and Janette all had a lot of fun.

I really liked the soft colors and thought it would be great for  a heritage layout. I ended up deciding to scrap a photo of James’ grandmother. This photo was taken in 1990, at least a decade before I ever met her. She was the sweetest lady. She passed away a few years ago.2014-12-08_LO_Margaret-Moore
