Budding Artist and a Few Other Layouts

This afternoon, I laid down to take a nap, but after half an hour I decided the nap wasn’t happening and instead got scrappy while Jessica napped. I used the current Sketchy Thursdays sketch.

Today, I’m sharing two layouts with you. The first uses a Sketchy Thursdays sketch.

The second uses Scrapbooks Etc. sketch 15. Sketches are very inspiring to me and make putting together a layout go faster.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day. And make sure you come back tomorrow as I’ll be posting a video of Jessica at the pool.

Josh’s Graduation Card

Posted on by

My friend Adriana’s son recently graduated from high school. He will be starting at A&M in a few weeks and I am sending him off with something every college student needs. To go with the gift, I wanted to make a card that truly reflected his chosen college. That includes this vintage image of A&M from ClipArt Etc. I also included the state of Texas seal. I used Jen del Muro’s July Sketch for You to Try, but I turned the sketch on its side. On the inside I stamped “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.” I’m really happy with how this card turned out.

July Sketch for You to Try

Josh's Graduation Card

Stamps: ClipArt Etc 57965_tx_seal_lg and txagri_30446_lg; Stampin’ Up sentiments (both inside and outside)
Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Bravo Burgundy
Ink: Dell printer;
Embellishments: silver cord; silver brad
Tools: Stampin’ Up small oval, star, corner rounder and 1.5″ circle punches; Stampin’ Up embossing folder

Special thanks to Lori for letting me mooch cardstock, a brad and some silver cording while stamping at her place last week.

Have a fabulous day!

PageMaps Sketch Plus Some Other Layouts

I’ve been in a really scrappy mood lately and having a lot of fun. All of the layouts I’m sharing today are for my parent’s Canadian Rocky trip. They are actually in the order they will be in the final book.

The first one was done using this sketch from Scrapbookbytes.com.

Jasper Train Station

Digikits Used: Chugga Choo Choo – Connie Prince

The second layout was made using the PageMaps Punky Sprouts sketch. I decided to change it up a little by adding an additional photo.

Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Digikits Used: Chugga Choo Choo and Zoom Zoom Zoom – Connie Prince

This third layout will be next to previous layout which journals about the lodge’s proximity to beautiful Lac Beauvert and my Dad’s photos of the lake really do make it look gorgeous. Don’t you love how he captured the reflection of the mountains in the still waters of the lake?

Lac Beauvert

Digikits Used: March of the Animals – The Scrapping Sisters

These last two layouts will be side by side in the book.

Pyramid Lake 1

Pyramid Lake 2

Digikits Used: Chugga Choo Choo – Connie Prince

Dad, don’t be concerned about the split photo. In the printed book, it will look fabulous since it will span the two pages.

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day.
