Plan On It

So excited, I’m guesting for Connie Prince again this month. Yesterday, was the release of the Gingerscraps Buffet. You can see the entire Buffet collection on Ginger Scraps here: tr.im/bkoez

I was inspired by the word strip that read “today’s menu” and knew I had to find some food related pictures. Initially, I looked at some Christmas pictures from 2008, but the colors just didn’t work and I switched to a Thanksgiving layout. If that pie looks appealing, here’s the recipe: Cran-Apple Pie. Journaling reads: Jason and Sarah both planned to attend the UT/A&M football game in Austin on Friday, so it would have been a very short holiday in Midland for them. James and I offered to host Thanksgiving at our apartment. Mom, Dad, and Sarah stayed at our apartment for the extended weekend. Jason’s friend Grant joined us too for our big Thanksgiving meal served as a late lunch. I made a cran-apple pie and homemade cranberry sauce in advance. We also had turkey, a garden salad with almonds and oranges, and green bean casserole.

Adventures in the Everglades

Second up is one of Janette sleeping. Journaling reads: It was the Friday of the first week of kindergarten for Jessica. The longer school day and waking up earlier didn’t phase her. However, Janette was tired by the end of the week. The girls played after school pick-up. Their playtime volume decreased quite a bit and I went to check on them. Jessica was playing in her room. I found Janette on the couch. She took a 2 hour nap.

Growing up, there was a nursery rhyme about monkeys who jumped on the bed and it always seemed to end in trips to the doctor. I made two layouts. The first one is a recent doctor’s appointment. Journaling reads: While we waited in the exam room to see Dr. Siddiqui, Janette and I played with the toys in the provided toy box. She quite enjoyed the doctor’s toys. When she placed the stethoscope on the table top, I asked her if the table had a heartbeat. She replied… “Yes, it has a heartbeat, because the table is sick.”

This second one scraps a medical procedure when Jessica was just a few weeks old. Journaling reads: Jessica had an ultrasound performed on her hips. This is a common precautionary test for breech babies. She slept the entire time, even with that cool gel. The ultrasound technicians said it would be nice if more babies were that calm. This picture was taken after they finished the test. We found out the results and everything is normal.
