State of Mind: Rocky Mountains

Posted on January 22, 2015 by Jennifer

Queen Wild Scraps’ next stop on her cross-country tour of the United States is the Rocky Mountains. Home to the some of the most beautiful national parks, State of Mind: Rocky Mountains includes the states of Colorado, Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. Don’t be discouraged if you haven’t visited all of these states. These templates are totally versatile, as some member of the creative team will show you. You can pick up State of Mind: Rocky Mountains at Scraps N Pieces today and at Gingerscraps tomorrow. Plus it’s on sale through January 29th for 40% off.

Here’s my layout using the Idaho template.

Life is Good

Posted on January 9, 2015 by Jennifer

January is collaboration month at Gotta Pixel! Rachael of Seatrout Designs and Paula of Keystone Scraps have teamed up to make a fun everyday sort of kit! Life is Good! This collaboration also has templates to help you get your pages started. You can pick up this new collab as a bundle with page kit and templates and it is also sold separately. The kit includes: 15 patterned papers; 5 solid papers; alpha in 3 colors – uppercase, numbers and some punctuation; and 64 elements. The template includes 4 layered templates in psd, tiff, png and page file formats.

The collab will be on sale at Gotta Pixel for 30% through January 15th.

I have two layouts using this collab. These are from our Disney vacation last summer. Journaling on the first page reads: “The American pavilion was really beautiful with its classica Georgian style of the late 1700s. The central rotunda inside was just as beautiful. We arrived just in time for the next showing of The American Adventure audio-animatronics stage show. The 30 minute show highlighted notable events and great personalites in American History. It was nice and cool inside and with the darkness of the theater, a number of us snoozed through quite a bit of the show. That’s okay, it allowed for a nice rest to keep us going the rest of the day. After the show, Jessica and Janette stopped at the American Kidkot Fun Stop and colored Duffy the Bear signs. As we were preparing to move on to the next pavilion, we heard music. It was the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps. They marched out from near the reastooms. Once they stopped, the leader asked for audience participation from the kids, but neither Jessica nor Janette wanted to participate.”

I’m loving this kit and made three layouts so far with. All from our Walt Disney World vacation last summer.

Winter Elegance Part 2

Posted on January 4, 2015 by Jennifer

I told you about Winter Elegance on the first. The three pieces are available only at Scraps N Pieces store right now. They’re $1 each through Jan. 7th. After that, the pieces will be combined and will be priced at full price.

I finally had some time to play with Winter Elegance and I have three layouts for you. First up are two pages that will be side by side in my album, so basically a double page; however, I made them individually. Journaling on the first page reads: “January 2007 was one of the wetter Januarys of record for Austin. A winter precipitation making weather system brought feezing rain and sleet. Coupled with lows near or below freezing, the city was blanketed with ice. Schools closed and officials recommended staying off the road. James and I stayed home from work. That night, when it appeared that the low wouldn’t be freezing, James and I defrosted and scrapped the ice from my Sonoma so I wouldn’t have as much to do in the morning.” I actually used the same template for both of them, but modified it heavily for the second page.

This third layout is from this past Christmas. We always take pictures by the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Usually, the one of James and I is taken after the girls go to bed.

Project 2015 January

Posted on January 2, 2015 by Jennifer

Connie Prince is starting off the new year with her newest project life style series. I love her yearly month series. 2015 is no exception. You can pick it and the coordinating add-ons up at Scrapbookbytes, Gotta Pixel, or Gingerscraps.

I scrapped a layout from last January. Journaling reads: “Nana, Grandpoppy, and cousin Dawson arrived yesterday for a long weekend. This morning, Nana and I took the kids to the Circle C Metro Park to run off some energy before lunch.”
