Simple Pleasures

Posted on by

True North Scraps is new at GoDigital Scrapbooking and hasn’t seen Mixology before but Dawna is loving it! Mixology is a two week long event with a common color and theme. You can’t beat the price and just look at beautiful colors! Until April 7th, each piece is only $1.20, so mix and match to make the perfect kit for you.

Here is my layout using Simple Pleasures. Journaling reads: Jessica enjoys playing games and watching video clips on the computer. Since our computers are in the study and Daddy works from home, she doesn’t get to play on the computer very often. Today, while Daddy was in Florida for work, she was able to enjoy some computer time during Janette’s nap. She wanted to wear the headphones just like Daddy does.

In addition to designing Dawna has been busy adding inventory to her Go Digital shop. Yesterday she added 4 new kits, 2 new alphas and 3 coordinating add-on packs!

Do you get the GoDigital Scrapbooking newsletter? I hope so! There’s a coupon for $2 off a purchase of $4.99 or more (that’s 40%) from True North Scraps’ shop there, plus a freebie word art pack that coordinates with Small World!

Backlog of Layouts

Posted on by

I have a back log of layouts to share with you today. They were all created for either a speed scrap or a forum challenge.

First up is one I had intended to share on my parent’s 34th anniversary this year, but I got side tracked and forgot. It has some then and now photos. Well, sorta now photos. The now photos were from their 30th anniversary celebrations in 2010, a family party my siblings and I surprised them with and their celebratory trip.

Last Christmas I made my sister-in-law two quilted cathedral potholders and quite a few layouts I had printed out for her. I’ve decided that I’m going to give her some each Christmas. She really liked the ones I gave her this past Christmas. This layout includes a great picture of her as a baby. Her dad died when she was just a few years old, so I know she will love this layout.2014-03-21_LO_1972-David-Olivia-and-Tamara

This one showcases my in-laws wedding. It seems so weird seeing all that hair on my FIL. He’s been bald on top as long as I’ve known him.2014-03-21_LO_Bride-&-Groom

This is my Grandma when when she was either 20 or 21. Not sure what part of 1951 the photos were taken. She was a real looker, wasn’t she?2014-03-21-_LO_Hilda

Ironically, this photo was taken when James and I celebrated our anniversary in 2013. Jason and Julia took care of the girls while we had dinner and I snapped this photo when we picked Janette up after dinner (Jessica spent the night with her cousin).2014-03-21_LO_Jason-Julia

Here’s a family tree layout for my sister. The three boy photos were from last year, but the photo of them was from this January. Sadly, I couldn’t find a good photo of the two of them from last year. This year, I’m making an effort to get couple shots.2014-03-21_LO_Witgen-Love-Tree

A Time for Fun

Posted on by

It’s Grab-A-Byte time over at Scrapbookbytes. Word Art World‘s kit is called A Time for Fun. There are four pieces. I love the flea market feel to the elements.2014-03-10_WAW-gabmar2014ad 2014-03-10_WAW-gabmar2014elements 2014-03-10_WAW-gabmar2014alpha 2014-03-10_WAW-gabmar2014papers 2014-03-10_WAW-gabmar2014wa

Here’s my layout using all four pieces. I scrapped a page about a fun lunch with friends last August.

The camping upstairs adventure was a complete fail. It took Janette two hours to go to sleep and until I took her back to her room, Jessica couldn’t go to sleep either. Of course, I forgot that it was spring forward daylight savings when we started the camping adventure. My goal is now get Janette to be able to fall asleep with Jessica without being a disaster. Then camping might go better.

Love is Patient

Posted on by

True North Scraps has a new release today. Love is Patient is a very pretty kit is full of affection!  There are plenty of hearts, Cupid, a love bug as well as many other beautiful elements, making a total of 50 elements.  The papers consist of 6 plain cardstocks and 18 very pretty patterned papers.  Also included is a full alpha with numbers, uppercase, lowercase and some punctuation.

Additionally, for those of us who find time at a premium or might be in a creative slump, there are some quick pages available separately.  Just add photos, maybe an extra few elements and a title made with the alpha from the kit and you are finished super-fast!

The kit and the quick pages are available at all three of True North Scrap’s stores — Scraps N Pieces, GoDigital Scrapbooking and Heritage Scrap.  And you can get them on sale for 30% off until March 10th.

Do you check the TOUs of designers when you download their kits?  Sometimes it’s worthwhile… just sayin’…  😉

I have two layouts to share from Valentine’s Day this year.
