I ended up using all four piece, but not all on one layout. My two layouts are about an evening with friends. Journaling on the first layout, which was made second, reads: “We went over to Aric and Kristy’s place for dinner. Afterward, we wandered their property a little before enjoying the sunset.”

In Loving Memory

We’ve all been there. Unfortunately we have all lost somebody we care about deeply. In fact Dawna just recently lost a dear girlfriend who bravely fought cancer for 3 years. That is what made her realize there is a real need for kits like

In Loving Memory

This kit is very tasteful and is appropriate for people of most faiths. There are 34 elements including a blank headstone for personalization. The 16 papers are understated and will allow for a variety of layouts. Also included is a full alpha of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers that look like polished marble.

Although I hope you won’t need this kit for a long time to come, it’s nice to know its here waiting for you when you do. You can find it at Scraps N Pieces and Heritage Scrap. The kit is on sale for 30% off until May 18th.

The text on the right is my Grandma’s obituary, which my Dad and I actually collaborated to write. The journaling in the circle reads: “When my parents moved Grandma from her home in El Paso to a nursing home in Midland, I was quite happy, because it meant I would get to see her more often. However, Alzheimer’s is a really horrible disease and the last few times I saw her, it was really hard and I cried when we left Manor Park. When she passed away, I knew she was in a better place. I was sad that I had to miss her funeral as Janette’s due date was 2.5 weeks from the funeral and travelling was out of the question. As it was, Janette came early and my parents actually flew from Austin for the graveside service.”

A Muster of Memories

Amy’s Designs has a gorgeous new kit out today. It is full of blues and purples and turquoise. The kit is generic enough for any type of photos, but it has a number of peacock related elements and others that give a grandma’s attic vibe. It is a rather large kit with 15 cardstock, 30 patterned papers, and 125 elements plus a fun alpha.

The layout I have to share today is of my sister-in-law. She is a hard person to shop for and this year for Christmas I’ve decided we’re giving her a scrapbook album with layouts. I think I’m safe to say this on my blog, because she is not an internet surfer, at least not that I think. This will be one of the ones included. The photo required some editing and then I decided the background bugged me with the rest of the layout (I decided to edit the photo after I had almost finished the layout), so I improved the photo, copied it, cut Tami out of the top one and turned the bottom one sepia. I like how it turned out.

Lookin for Adventure

It’s that time of year when motorcycles start appearing regularly on the streets and highways. Dawna is an avid biker and can’t wait for enough snow to melt for them to take the dust cover off their motorcycle and hit the road! Well… not literally. They intend to keep the ‘rubber side down’ and enjoy their rides. Remember to look twice — you could save a life! Motorcycles are hard to see and we hate to hear about any crashes involving motorcycles because you know it’s not usually going to end well for the biker(s).

Dawna knows that she can’t possibly be the only scrapper who enjoys riding, so she made this kit for people like her:

Lookin For Adventure

This kit has 35 elements and 20 papers, all ready for your photographs of your exciting adventures, whether they are on a motorcycle, a scooter, and even (as you will see from the LOs made by the North Stars) child-sized vehicle adventures too!

Also included is a very bright alpha of upper and lower case letters, numbers and many symbols – including the very hard to find tilde (~), £, and € symbols!

I have two layouts that I made. The first one is about our love affair with Freebirds.

Journaling reads: James has always been a big fan of Freebirds. I didn’t used to be a big fan, but something in my taste buds changed when I was pregnant with Janette and now it is one of my favorite places to eat too. Since little monsters (kids) eat free Sunday evening and all day Monday and Tuesday, it is the perfect family dining spot. Jessica will always eat a quesadilla and Janette loves the rice as well as the quesadilla.

This second layout is of Jessica shortly after her first birthday riding in her birthday present from us. This car is pretty popular, because she still loves it, although she can maneuver it herself via foot power.
