Cousins

The first part of spring break, I took the girls to visit my sister and her family (James stayed home to continue his job search). Here’s a layout I made the first full day we were there. I made it Tuesday for a Speed Scrap and excitedly it was chosen as a Gallery Stand Out. Journaling reads: Both Trevor and Cameron were enamored with their baby cousin. Jessica wanted to make sure they knew Janette was her baby sister. And yes, Jessica didn’t want to wear clothes, about par for the course.

Beautiful Life

Posted on by

Today is release day for the newest kit by Amy’s Designs. Beautiful Life is a vintage, slightly worn, very spring kit with gorgeous colors. As usual, Amy has it on sale the first week.

I made two layouts to showcase the awesomeness of this kit. First up is a layout of my MOPS Mom’s Night Out. I’m loving MOPS. It is such a comforting place to be and it is so inspiring to be surrounded by awesome moms. Journaling reads: Our MOPS group coordinates a Mom’s Night Out the first Thursday of the month. This month we painted pottery at Cafe Monet. It was great to be artistic, relax and chat. Clockwise from top left: Summer, Dorothy, Jennifer M., Lindsee, Suzie, Jenny, and Jennifer K. (behind Jenny).

Second is a layout of my beautiful Jessica. I have a hard time putting a single photo on a layout, so the speed scrap that I made this for was challenging, but I like how it turned out. Plus this was the only picture that I took of Jessica that day that I liked. I felt the red of her wagon was distracting, so I made the photo black and white and then selectively put the color back on Jessica.

Got Luck?

Posted on by

Karen Diamond Designs has a fabulous new kit available. Got Luck? is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day layouts, but with earthy shades of green, blue and brown, it is versatile enough to scrap many other everyday photos! What’s even more awesome is you can get this kit for free right now until the end of the month just by spending $10 at Scraps-N-Pieces. And since Karen has her store on sale this month to celebrate her 3rd anniversary as a designer, now would be an excellent time to stock up on Karen Diamond Designs digi-products.

Today, I’m sharing two layouts using this kit, both of which have nothing to do with St. Patrick’s Day. First up is a layout I made it for a speed scrap. One of the requirements was a title that was a question. This caused me to spend too much time finding the right photos making it a not so speedy speed scrap for me. I do like how it turned out. Journaling reads: “After Trevor and Jessica had woken up and had their diapers changed, Sarah and I placed them both in Jessica’s crib. Jessica wasn’t sure what to think about having someone else in her bed, as evidenced by Jessica grabbing Trevor’s ear. Although it was probably just what she touched first.”

Second is a layout for the Canadian Rockies album I’m creating for my parents documenting their 30th anniversary celebration trip. My Dad is a pretty good photographer, huh? I love that reflection in the lake.

Springing Into Luck

Today, I’m sharing three layouts made of recent photos of my girls.

First up is one using photos from story time.

Then I have a 2-page spread.

and the right side.

All of these layouts were made with a great new collab out for you today by Queen Wild Scraps and Mommy Made This. Just in time for St. Patty’s Day it’s full of greens, but it’s also got a springy feel to it for everyone who has been lucky enough to experience some warmer weather. Be sure to pick up this kit this week as it will be 25% off at SNP and and STS.

Here’s Lahni’s part:

And Colleen’s part:

And here’s what the other wild princesses did with the two kits:

Here is a layout I made to coordinate with the one titled Just Me & My Daddy I shared on Friday. It contains the rest of the scrap worthy photos from Jessica’s first St. Patrick’s Day.

I also have some Scraps N Pieces information to share regarding a designer mentoring course.
