Beautiful Life

Today is release day for the newest kit by Amy’s Designs. Beautiful Life is a vintage, slightly worn, very spring kit with gorgeous colors. As usual, Amy has it on sale the first week.

I made two layouts to showcase the awesomeness of this kit. First up is a layout of my MOPS Mom’s Night Out. I’m loving MOPS. It is such a comforting place to be and it is so inspiring to be surrounded by awesome moms. Journaling reads: Our MOPS group coordinates a Mom’s Night Out the first Thursday of the month. This month we painted pottery at Cafe Monet. It was great to be artistic, relax and chat. Clockwise from top left: Summer, Dorothy, Jennifer M., Lindsee, Suzie, Jenny, and Jennifer K. Second is a layout of my beautiful Jessica. I have a hard time putting a single photo on a layout, so the speed scrap that I made this for was challenging, but I like how it turned out. Plus this was the only picture that I took of Jessica that day that I liked. I felt the red of her wagon was distracting, so I made the photo black and white and then selectively put the color back on Jessica.

Here is a layout I made to coordinate with the one titled Just Me & My Daddy I shared on Friday. It contains the rest of the scrap worthy photos from Jessica’s first St. Patrick’s Day.

Today is release day for a new digital scrapbooking kit by Amy’s Designs. It is a St. Patrick’s Day themed kit, but is versatile enough to scrap a variety of photos.

I scrapped some older photos of Jessica. First up are some photos taken at a playground last April. Journaling reads: Sunday, April 3, 2011 It was such a pretty spring day, with temperatures in the low 80°s. After Jessica’s afternoon nap we headed to Mills Elementary School to check out the playground. She especially enjoyed “driving.”

This second layout is from the speed scrap last night and the photo is from Jessica’s First St. Patrick’s Day. Journaling reads: St. Patrick’s Day isn’t a holiday with a lot of celebration for us. I try to make sure James and I both wear green, but that is typically all we do. Jessica’s First St. Patrick’s Day was no different, except she did have special St. Patrick’s Day socks. My Girls

Hello! Today I’m sharing a few layouts with my two favorite scrapbook subjects.

This first layout was done for a speed scrap. A speed scrap (SS) is where you’re given a set of instructions and a time limit (usually 1 or 2 hours). The instructions were provided by Colleen of Mommy Made This.
1. Choose 1 plain paper for the background & 1 photo and a frame it fits inside. Place the photo in the centre of your page.
2. Choose 3 papers (at least 2 patterned) and make rectangles a little larger than your frame and layer them behind the frame. (I used 2 ovals and 1 rectangle.)
3. Cut 5 short thin strips of paper (or alternatively ribbon) and layer then haphazardly behind and at the bottom of the photo frame.
4. Using at least 8 elements and a string/swirl cluster around the photo sides & bottom.
5. Scatter several (at least 4) small buttons on and around the cluster.
6. Place a title in the bottom corner of the page and add any date or journaling you wish.
7. Add any extra touches, upload to the gallery & post in the forum.

Then I had to make a coordinating second layout with more of the photos from that particular bath time.

And lastly here is a layout of my girls. I had scrapped these two photos in another SS, but I wasn’t happy with the result, so I made a new layout with the same photos.
