Colder Weather

Posted on January 6, 2016 by Jennifer

January’s Scraps N Pieces Store Collab is all about colder weather. Colder Weather is full of the grays and blues of winter, plus reds and green. It has an awesome mix of elements: fun cold weather themed elements plus a generous assortment of generic elements, making this kit perfect for all kinds of layouts. There is a quick page pack available or you can buy the kit and the quick pages together in a bundle. Previews are linked.

Snow isn’t something I see a lot in central Texas, so I wasn’t sure initially what I wanted to scrap with Colder Weather. Then I saw the tree elements and I knew. I scrapped some photos from a recent overnight trip to San Antonio to visit Sea World and the Botanical Garden. Our trip was after Christmas, but Sea World was still decorated for the holidays and I knew this kit would be perfect. Not overtly Christmas-themed, yet perfect for the decorations. And that coral color worked great with the picture of the flamingos.

Journaling reads: We decided to make a quick overnight trip to San Antonio to have some family fun. In August, we had extended the girls’ free preschool summer passes to Sea World through the end of the year at a cost of $15 each, so we didn’t want that to go to waste. We drove to San Antonio and ate lunch at Sea Island Shrimp House before heading to Sea World. The ticketing area was decorated with a trio of beautiful blue trees. Jessica has become quite a photo diva and will pose for me. She even asks me to take her photo at times. Janette requires a bit more coaxing.

A Winter Wonderland and Template Pack 11

Posted on January 1, 2016 by Jennifer

Welcome to a new year at Scraps N Pieces. Heidi and Lori are so grateful for this past year and all of their wonderful customers. They have so many fun things planned for this next year and they are starting it off with their contribution to January Bits N Pieces – A Woodland Winter.

With a light dusting of snow on the ground, everywhere becomes a winter wonderland. A Woodland Winter celebrates the cheerful yet muted tones of the world after a fresh snowfall and draws upon delightful winter imagery, turning every single layout into a snowy spectacular. Featured elements include snowmen, owls, birds (with stocking caps), ornaments, and snowflakes galore. The muted pastel tones add a pop of color to winter, keeping spirits bright until springtime. Celebrate the snowy joy outside your door with A Woodland Winter.

The pieces this month are a stitched alpha, a paper pack, a cardstock pack, and an element pack. In addition, Heidi and Lori are releasing Template Pack 11. These items are just $1 through the 7th of January and are exclusive to their Scraps N Pieces store right now.

I don’t really get a winter wonderland in my area of the country, but this kit is versatile. I have two non-snowy layouts. These are from our Christmas celebration with my side of the family this year.

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, memories were being made. Christmastime is one of the most festive-and most photographed-times of the year, with so much joy in everything. The latest kit from Scraps N Pieces, ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas, reflects upon the classic story of the same name, making subtle nods to the traditions contained within. This jewel-toned kit positively shines and sparkles, providing the perfect complement to your ornaments, lights, and presents under the tree. Featured elements include a fireplace with stockings, Santa, reindeer, Christmas trees, lights, banners, and cookies for Santa. Also included are thematic word art for telling your Christmas stories with glee. Snuggle up and scrap Christmas traditions for years to come with ‘Twas The Night Before Christmas.

This kit is 1/2 price at both the Scraps N Pieces Store and our My Memories store.

The word art below is FREE WITH DOWNLOADS, or you can pick it up on the STORE BLOG for a limited time for FREE.

I have two layouts to share and I need to make at least one or two more. These are from a visit to the town of Llano’s Christmas light trail. This was actually the second time we visited this year. The first was the Saturday after Thanksgiving on the way back to Austin and this time was again on the way back to Austin from a trip to Midland, this time for our Christmas celebration with family.

Today is the last day for GGI at Gotta Pixel.

I have two layouts. They document a trip to Home Depot in Midland over Thanksgiving for a building workshop and surprisingly a Santa visit.

Love Melts the Heart

Posted on November 26, 2015 by Jennifer

Love Melts The Heart is the perfect product for scrapping all your chilly memories (even those in summer). This modern winter kit infuses the traditional icy blues and silvers with pops of pink and green, perfect for infusing some summer into your winter. The sled and snowflakes go perfectly with the flowers, ribbons and bows, making this kit perfect for snow days and Frozen sing-a-longs alike. Document those memories “worth melting for” with Love Melts The Heart. Get this for 1/2 price during the first week of release. Previews are linked.

I’m hosting a template challenge at Mousescrappers and Lori and Heidi graciously provided the template. Mousescrappers Template Challenge #244 runs through December 4th, so you have time to play.

I ended up making three layouts using Love Melts the Heart. The first uses the template challenge template. All photos are from our Disney cruise this summer.
