Impossible to Live Without

Today started Bits N Pieces over at Scraps N Pieces. True North Scraps has four pieces you can snag for $1 each. I used all four of them in my layout.

My layout uses photos I took with my smart phone last Monday. Janette is really loving holding her sister’s hand. And for the most part, Jessica likes it too.

Lookin for Adventure

It’s that time of year when motorcycles start appearing regularly on the streets and highways. Dawna is an avid biker and can’t wait for enough snow to melt for them to take the dust cover off their motorcycle and hit the road! Well… not literally. They intend to keep the ‘rubber side down’ and enjoy their rides. Remember to look twice — you could save a life! Motorcycles are hard to see and we hate to hear about any crashes involving motorcycles because you know it’s not usually going to end well for the biker(s).

Dawna knows that she can’t possibly be the only scrapper who enjoys riding, so she made this kit for people like her:

Lookin For Adventure

This kit has 35 elements and 20 papers, all ready for your photographs of your exciting adventures, whether they are on a motorcycle, a scooter, and even (as you will see from the LOs made by the North Stars) child-sized vehicle adventures too!

Also included is a very bright alpha of upper and lower case letters, numbers and many symbols – including the very hard to find tilde (~), £, and € symbols!

I have two layouts that I made. The first one is about our love affair with Freebirds.

Journaling reads: James has always been a big fan of Freebirds. I didn’t used to be a big fan, but something in my taste buds changed when I was pregnant with Janette and now it is one of my favorite places to eat too. Since little monsters (kids) eat free Sunday evening and all day Monday and Tuesday, it is the perfect family dining spot. Jessica will always eat a quesadilla and Janette loves the rice as well as the quesadilla.

This second layout is of Jessica shortly after her first birthday riding in her birthday present from us. This car is pretty popular, because she still loves it, although she can maneuver it herself via foot power.

Do You Believe in Fairies?

This pixie dusted kit is a rework of a kit Dawna released about a year ago in her first store. Why did she redo this kit? Well, it’s a favourite kit of many and she wanted to release it in her current stores, but she has learned so much about designing in the past year that she wanted up update it to her current higher standards first. Dawna changed elements she wasn’t happy with, took some elements out that she couldn’t upgrade, and added some new elements to this kit.

It’s also a lot bigger than last year. Dawna combined the old kit with the add-on that she also has redone, and turned it into a mega kit with over 70 elements and 34 papers. Not shown in the preview above, is a full sparkly green alpha that is also now included in the kit!

I love this kit! Look at the fantastic LO I made with it. Journaling reads: Jessica is enamored with the dress-up Tinkerbell she picked out on our Disney cruise. The collection of dresses and props gets carried around in a variety of purses and containers.

Five Layouts

I realized I have a back log of layouts I haven’t shared here on my blog yet, so here are a number of them in no particular order.

This layout features Janette on her first day wearing her orthotic helmet.

I’m really happy with how this next layout, a speed scrap layout, turned out. I made it shortly after finding out my Dad had been diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to document how I am really my father’s daughter. It garnered me a layout of the day award at Scrapbookbytes.

Journaling reads: My Dad and I both enjoy taking photos and planning trips. I definitely know that my desire to type up an itinerary and label my photos comes from him. We also both like to read historical markers and look at maps. Out of all of my siblings, I am the only one who takes just as many photos of the architecture as my Dad. He’s always there when I need his advice. I can’t imagine life without him.

This layout was made during my photoshop techniques class. The technique was align and distribute, which I used on the title and subtitle.

It’s a Love Thing & Top Five

Today, I am going to share two new releases for Word Art World.

Top Five actually released yesterday. I had a lot of fun enhancing the word art for my layout.

It’s a Love Thing is part of the Gotta Grab It February collection. It is broken into five pieces that you can pick up for $1 each.

My first layout uses both word art from Top Five and four of the It’s a Love Thing pieces. The photo is my first photo using my new 60-inch tripod.
