The first half of 2014 is behind, and we are full-swing into summer. July is a fun and exciting month in the United States as its Independence is celebrated throughout the country on the 4th. The first of July is also a big day for our neighbors to the north, as they celebrate Canada Day. In honor of these patriotic holidays, the designers at Scraps N Pieces have an awesome monthly collab.

Express Yourself

Express Yourself is this month’s SNP Store Collab. It is geared toward the art journaling style of scrapping.Now art journaling isn’t really my style. In fact, when I found out that this month’s store collab was art journaling, I was actually a little disappointed. However, I decided to challenge myself and scrap outside of my comfort zone. It helped that I saw a layout on Facebook with word bits of the scrapper’s roles in life just a day before I picked up Express Yourself. That layout totally inspired me. This first layout was the result. And I have to say, maybe I’ll be a convert to art journaling yet. I really like how this turned out.

Then I decided I needed to see how Express Yourself could work for more traditional layouts. The result was this layout of my sweet nephew. I also used a template from the new Something Simple Vol. 2 template set by Queen Wild Scraps.

SNP Second Anniversary & DSD Weekend

It’s the second anniversary at SNP and it’s DSD weekend! Can I get a WHOOT?!! They have planned a super fun weekend for you! The customers and designers are some of the best people in digi and we are so very excited to have each of you actively involved in our community! You have no idea how you’ve touched our lives and how much we enjoy chatting with you and looking at your layouts. There is something wonderful about SNP. It’s the friendships we create. It’s the way our stories intertwine with those of the people we’ve never met in real life. It’s people from all over the world uniting in this wonderful way that helps us to capture those small moments in time that make up the stories of our lives. Nowhere else can you find such an awesome group of people who work and create so closely to build such an amazing community for all of us to feel at home in.

This weekend we are celebrating each and every one of you be{You}tiful people. The challenges and chats are centered around getting to know you better. We hope you’ll join us this weekend as we strengthen our friendships and our community. I’m sure there will be a lot of laughter and of course they’ve created a Be{You}tiful collection of goodies for you that you won’t want to miss. There is a fabulous facebook hop where you can collect 25 be{You}tiful templates and they wouldn’t dare celebrate their anniversary or DSD without an awesome store wide sale! There will be 3 live events each day (with the exception of Thursday when there will be only 1) where we can meet in the chat room and get a little crazy (or a lot crazy for some of us…but I’m not naming any names!). There will be prizes awarded at each live event so be sure to be there on time! We’ll also have 2 challenges for you each day where you can earn the pieces to a HUGE collab (We’re talking 96 Papers, 82 Journal Cards, 190 Ellies and a full alpha!!)! You’ll have all weekend to complete the challenges so don’t stress about getting them done quickly. Kick back with us and enjoy your weekend!
