A Place to Call Home was Word Art World’s portion of the Gingerscraps May Buffet. However, that sale was May 1-5. Oops, I forgot to blog about it. So it’s no longer on sale, but it is still really cute.
That little sign saying everyone needs a place to call home called to me. I had to use it. I decided to scrap the photo of James and I with the sold sign in front of our first home. We no longer live there, but we made lots of memories the little over 6 years we did live there. Journaling reads: On December 4, 2004, our real estate agent Tom Coplen took us to visit six houses. House # 3 caught our interest right away. It was a nice size and had a decent yard. The kitchen was fabulous and it had a huge walk-in pantry. We came back for a second walk-through and put in an offer. It was accepted and we went through the buying process: inspection and negotiations. We closed Friday, January 14, 2005, but didn’t move in until about Valentine’s Day. This allowed us time to paint all rooms except closets and have laminate flooring installed in the three bedrooms, all prior to moving. The laminate flooring we had installed matched the existing flooring that was in the living, kitchen, and dining rooms and made it so the master closet was the only room with carpet in the whole house. We were so excited to become homeowners.
