SNP Second Anniversary & DSD Weekend

It’s the second anniversary at SNP and it’s DSD weekend! Can I get a WHOOT?!! They have planned a super fun weekend for you! The customers and designers are some of the best people in digi and we are so very excited to have each of you actively involved in our community! You have no idea how you’ve touched our lives and how much we enjoy chatting with you and looking at your layouts. There is something wonderful about SNP. It’s the friendships we create. It’s the way our stories intertwine with those of the people we’ve never met in real life. It’s people from all over the world uniting in this wonderful way that helps us to capture those small moments in time that make up the stories of our lives. Nowhere else can you find such an awesome group of people who work and create so closely to build such an amazing community for all of us to feel at home in.

This weekend we are celebrating each and every one of you be{You}tiful people. The challenges and chats are centered around getting to know you better. We hope you’ll join us this weekend as we strengthen our friendships and our community. I’m sure there will be a lot of laughter and of course they’ve created a Be{You}tiful collection of goodies for you that you won’t want to miss. There is a fabulous facebook hop where you can collect 25 be{You}tiful templates and they wouldn’t dare celebrate their anniversary or DSD without an awesome store wide sale! There will be 3 live events each day (with the exception of Thursday when there will be only 1) where we can meet in the chat room and get a little crazy (or a lot crazy for some of us…but I’m not naming any names!). There will be prizes awarded at each live event so be sure to be there on time! We’ll also have 2 challenges for you each day where you can earn the pieces to a HUGE collab (We’re talking 96 Papers, 82 Journal Cards, 190 Ellies and a full alpha!!)! You’ll have all weekend to complete the challenges so don’t stress about getting them done quickly. Kick back with us and enjoy your weekend! Tooth Story

I’m here today to tell you about a kit from Marie H Designs. Tooth Story is an adorable little kit, designed to document all the little stories regarding your children’s tooth moments. It covers everything from first tooth, to lost tooth, to braces. I especially love the adult and baby teeth charts.  It happens to be in the Super Saturday Sale bin, so you can pick it up for $2 today.

I have two fun layouts about going to the dentist with Jessica and Janette at the end of September.

The first layout is about Jessica. Journaling reads: Jessica had gone to my dentist a number of times with her appointment following mine, but she never let Dr. Evans look in her mouth and barely let Melissa the hygenist brush her teeth with a regular toothbrush, so at the last visit Dr. Evans suggested it was time to change to a pediatric dentist. We decided to try Dr. Kim Hoang who opened her practice, Petite Dental ,right next door to Dr. Evans. When we arrived, Jessica said Janette could go first, but after Janette had her teeth checked out, she excitedly went off with the hygenist to have x-rays taken and then hopped right up on the seat to have her teeth cleaned. Dr. Hoang then checked out her teeth and told Jessica it was time to stop sucking her thumb.

The second layout is about Janette. Journaling reads: Today was Janette’s first ever dental check-up. She had visited my dentist before when I went in for cleanings, but this was the first time she had a check-up. Dr. Hoang had Janette sit in my lap facing me and then we lay her back so her head was in Dr. Hoang’s lap. She brushed Janette’s teeth with her new Princess Belle toothbrush. Janette did great!

Rivals

Amy’s Designs has a new kit releasing today, Rivals. In case you can’t tell, Amy is an Alabama girl. An Auburn Alabama girl to be exact. So it’s no surprise that this kit is close to her heart with the Auburn Tigers and Crimson Roll Tide being big rivals. With such a specific theme, you might think this kit isn’t versatile, but it is. You could make a zoo layout with the tigers, eagles, and elephants. You could make a sports layout with the various sports elements. Or you could do something totally different with it by just using the blue/orange or crimson/black colors. For the first week, you can pick up for 50% off.

I have two layouts to share today. I pulled photos more than a decade old for both of the. The first is when UTSA’s American Society of Civil Engineers student chapter made it to the National Concrete Competition in 2001. It was our chapter’s 6th year in a row to go to national competition. This was big, because we beat bigger schools in our area (UT and Texas A&M). And yes, it is made of concrete and yes it did float. It’s all a matter of the density of the concrete being lighter than the density of water. Obviously, we did not use the rocks typically used in concrete for applications such as house slabs or bridges. Instead, we used a lightweight aggregate. I’m the girl in the white shirt just right of center. Our team had some mis-communication about what to wear as can be seen by some of us wearing our mirror image t-shirts (name of the canoe) and most everyone wearing the student chapter polo shirts and the professors wearing whatever.

This second layout is my sister in high school. She played varsity softball all four years and yes, I’m a little proud of her for that. I had the photo labeled 1998, which was her sophomore year.
