I have a layout that definitely allows for time-stopping. This is Jessica when she was only seven months old. Journaling reads: “On our way back home, we stopped in San Angelo to have lunch with Uncle Chuck and Rose. Before putting Jessica back into her car seat to head to the restaurant, we let her “drive” with Daddy. She certainly enjoys steering wheels. After eating, we stopped at the playground across the Concho River from the Chamber of Commerce to let Jessica play.”

Vacation Bible School

I’m very excited to be guest creative team member for Connie Prince for the month of July. I was able to get started a little early with this wonderful North Meets South Studios (Connie’s collab name with Trixie Scraps Designs) kit titled Vacation Bible School. The timing was perfect as we had Vacation Bible School at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church the week before last.

Here’s my first layout using this fun kit. It is about my volunteer efforts at VBS. Journaling reads: “This was my second year as the leader of preschool crafts for Vacation Bible School at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church. My two helpers, McKenna and Rachel (middle school students), and I would take our tote bin with the days craft from classroom to classroom. During our break we would do prep work for a future craft or finish up the crafts (like apply the contact paper to make the placemats water resistant). On the last day, we distributed the Everyone Fun Fair bags filled with all the crafts.”

True Patriot Love

July 1st is Canada’s birthday and we want to celebrate it with a new kit, True Patriot Love!

This is a gigantic collaboration that was contributed to by the four Canadian designers at Scraps N Pieces: Marie H Designs, Mommy Made This, Queen Wild Scraps, and True North Scraps. This is probably one of the best collabs I have ever seen in my life!

Wait? Are you saying you aren’t Canadian, so why should you be interested? Be interested my friend. You still need this kit! We used colours appropriate for other nationalities to show their pride as well. We have even included some stars to match the American flag. I would like to show off the layouts I made using True Patriot Love. The first is a two-page spread for the Canadian Rockies album I’m making for my parents. This will be the first two pages for the album and even though I’m almost finished, I needed to go back to the beginning. I either needed to make a page 4 pictureless layout, so there wouldn’t be an empty spot due  to the next two pages needing to be side by side, or combine the first three layouts into two. I decided to combine. I really like how it turned out and I was able to incorporate the fun Vancouver Then and Now article from their Rocky Mountaineer Mile Post Newspaper.

These next two layouts are from a trip James and I took for a little getaway as he had to make a trip to Rochester for work and I arrived at the end of his work days. The first one will be the cover page of the album. I have so many vacation albums that just have a few pages done, who knows when I’ll finish this one.

After stopping to take a few photos, we walked leisurely through Clifton Hill, trying to decide where to stop for lunch. We saw the sign for Crepe de licious and decided to check out their menu as we became fans of savoury crepes when vacationing in Tahiti. We ended up staying and James had a Cordon Bleu crepe while I had a Chicken Caesar crepe. We then walked back to our hotel to hop in our rental car to drive north to Niagara-on-the-Lake.”

It’s a New Day

Amy’s Designs has a new kit being released today. The color scheme was inspired by CT member Ann’s family photos. I love the bright yellows and blues in this kit.

Journaling reads: “Everyone arrived at Sarah’s house Friday afternoon for a weekend to celebrate Cameron’s third birthday. We’re having a busy week. It’s Vacation Bible School at our church. Jessica is attending for the first time (you have to be 3 and potty trained). Janette is in the nursery for volunteer’s children. And I’m doing crafts with the 3, 4, and 5 year-olds. I hope your week is great.
