Cherish Life

Amy’s Designs has a new kit out today that is super cute. It is soft and feminine. The kit contains a newsprint type alpha. There is also a fun photoshop action. I tried it out in PSE 11 and it really made the photo look so perfect for the kit.

My layout is another for Tami’s album. She looks to be about 3 in this photo, but since her birthday is mid-November, I went ahead and put c. 1975.

I ended up using all four piece, but not all on one layout. My two layouts are about an evening with friends.  Journaling on the first layout, which was made second, reads: “We went over to Aric and Kristy’s place for dinner. Afterward, we wandered their property a little before enjoying the sunset.”

In Loving Memory

We’ve all been there.  Unfortunately we have all lost somebody we care about deeply.  In fact Dawna just recently lost a dear girlfriend who bravely fought cancer for 3 years.   That is what made her realize there is a real need for kits like 

In Loving Memory

This kit is very tasteful and is appropriate for people of most faiths.   There are 34 elements including a blank headstone for personalization.  The 16  papers are understated and will allow for a variety of layouts.  Also included is a full alpha of uppercase and lowercase letters and numbers that look like polished marble.

The text on the right is my Grandma’s obituary, which my Dad and I actually collaborated to write. The journaling in the circle reads: “When my parents moved Grandma from her home in El Paso to a nursing home in Midland, I was quite happy, because it meant I would get to see her more often. However, Alzheimer’s is a really horrible disease and the last few times I saw her, it was really hard and I cried when we left Manor Park. When she passed away, I knew she was in a better place. I was sad that I had to miss her funeral as Janette’s due date was 2.5 weeks from the funeral and travelling was out of the question. As it was, Janette came early and my parents actually flew from Austin for the graveside service.”
