Walt Disney World 2014 Layouts

One of my favorite things about our recent Disney trip was the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth show at Epcot right at closing.

I especially liked this photo of my sweet girls watching the show, but it was rather dark. So I used the Auto Smart Fix to enhance the image.

This is the layout I created with it. It was my week 3 entry for the annual Scrap It to Win It contest over at Scraps N Pieces.

State of Mind: The West Coast

Queen Wild Scraps has an awesome new release today. Earlier this year, the monthly SNP store collab was a desert themed kit and Lahni had made some state templates as her portion of the collab. A number of the girls on the CT told her she needed to make more like that with all the states. And that is how State of Mind: West Coast came to be. Don’t worry if you don’t like these states, Lahni has enough State of Mind template sets planned to cover all fifty states. I have two layouts to share using State of Mind: West Coast. First up uses the Hawaii template. This will be the cover page to my family’s Hawaiian vacation when I was 20. My Dad recently gave me CDs of his digital pictures. I need to scan the negatives before scrapping anymore, since there are very few photos of my Dad taken with his camera.

This second layout uses the California template. I resized the photo spots and used the state to journal a summary of our trip. This was our first out of two so far trips without kiddos. As our kiddos are 4 and 2 and we’ve traveled in 2011 and 2013, maybe we’ll make it a every other year tradition.

Life is a Box of Colors

Heidi Most embarrassing moment:

When I was around 16 or 17, we were at church and it was a meeting where people from the congregation can get up and bear testimonies. Well there was an older gentleman who liked to ramble on…anyway, while he was talking, there were some little kids sitting a couple rows in front of me and shot a rubber band back to me. So I was shooting it back to them but, by aim wasn’t the best and went all the way up and hit the man speaking on the forehead……oops! Well the good thing was that he quit talking.

Can’t really think of anything embarrassing – I think I tend to put those things out of my mind. LOL. I just have to say how much I LOVE designing with my sister. I always thought we were total opposites growing up, but those differences have been handy when designing together. She is artistic and creative and I am business minded and technical and organized. Put those things together and we make a great team. We have never been closer than we have been these past 5 ½ years that we have been designing together. We make a great team!
