My Life… July

Posted on by

Come July, summer is in full swing and many of us are too busy making memories to devote a lot time to scrapping. That’s where My Life… July comes in. This month’s installment of the popular My Life series features heavy amounts of red, white, and blue – perfect for scrapping the 4th of July. With plenty of patriotic elements in this kit, there’s no need to shop your stash. But July is more than just one night. This kit has plenty of patterned papers, journal cards, planner bits, and more to coordinate your entire month’s scrapping. A skinny alpha, calendar page, and quick page round out the kit so your month will match from start to finish. Get your stories scrapped and get back to living with My Life… July.

Get the bundle at Scraps N Pieces, Gingerscraps, or My Memories

Both are 50% off this week.

I made a Facebook timeline using a picture of Jessica, Janette and I in our matching patriotic Lularoe.

And then I made a layout of the Shady Hollow 4th of July parade. James’ Mom came Saturday and left Wednesday, so she was able to join us in our celebration.

I am not a surfer girl, but I knew as soon as I saw Marina’s new kit, that I would be scrapping some more of our 2008 trip to Tahiti. The colors are perfect for the ocean. Both of these two layouts are from the Bora Bora leg of our trip.

Travelogue North Carolina

Travelogue North Carolina isn’t a new installment in Connie Prince’s travel series, but I was lucky enough to get to work with it this week. Available at Ginger Scraps and The Digi Chick!

We traveled last summer to North Carolina and I had lots of pictures to choose from, but I chose these photos of the farmhouse at the Mountain Farm Museum, which is adjacent to the Oconaluftee Visitor Center of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

I’m sad that my month guesting for Connie Prince is coming to a close. Hopefully, I’ll be guesting again soon.

Summer: 4th of July

One of my favorite collections each month is Connie’s monthly Grab Bags!  You get 6 brand new coordinating packs for only $5!  While you get a preview on the blog, Connie sets a full reveal of the grab bag in the store so you know what you are getting before you purchase.  This month the theme is 4th of July and I bet many of you will love this collection! Available at Ginger Scraps and The Digi Chick. Today is the last day of the grab bag before it is separated into individual packs.

I initially had planned to scrap some pictures from last year’s 4th of July, but then I realized I had already scrapped the ones of Jessica and Janette and I really wanted to use the red, white, blue and cute too word art. So I had to go back to 2010 for some photos that worked. I really love how the first layout turned out. I then had to make a second layout to scrap some additional photos from the same photo shoot.

Travelogue Minnesota

I absolutely adore Connie Prince’s Travelogue Series. The latest installment in the series is Travelogue Minnesota available at Gingerscraps and the The Digi Chick!

The only time I’ve been to Minnesota was a layover on my way to Madison, WI. The weather was not the greatest, so it did turn into a 6-hour layover. My friends Katie and Stacy, whom I was traveling with to attend the ASCE Student Confence, and I did leave the airport and hit up the Mall of America, but alas I don’t have any pictures to prove that. Now, my sister-in-law’s brother does live in Minnesota and I remembered that my brother, sister-in-law, and niece did travel to Minnesota when he got married, so I asked Julia to share some photos and I decided to scrap these two on the shore of Lake Superior. Lake Superior does look mighty massive.

I decided to scrap some non-Minnesota photos too. I did add a flair and some greenery from Travelogue New York, but I thought Travelogue Minnesota worked quite well to scrap these photos of High Falls in Rochester, NY. That trip in 2013 was the last trip James and I took just the two of us. I had hoped for us to sneak away this summer too, but it didn’t quite work out. Next summer though!
