A Far Away Galaxy

Posted on by

While some people’s favorite stories start “once upon a time,” other stories begin with “a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”  If you are already picturing the scrolling crawl, this kit is for you.  A Far Away Galaxy pays tribute to Star Wars including light sabers, insignias, and a galactic alphabet.  This kit also contains other nods to a love of space, including planets, moons, and galaxies.  A Far Away Galaxy also contains traditional elements and patterned papers versatile enough to be used for every occasion, helping to stretch your stash.  Whether it’s blue milk for breakfast or the Jedi training academy, tell your stories with A Far Away Galaxy.  Grab is during this first week of release for half off.

I scrapped a page our 2014 Disney World vacation. James, his Dad and our nephew Dawson rode Star Tours while my mother-in-law and I took the girls to Muppets Vision 3D.

The colors screamed spring to me and I am patiently waiting for the Bradford pear in our front yard to bloom this year, so I scrapped some photos of it last year.

I have three layouts to share. First up is a double page spread of our 2011 visit to San Francisco. Journaling reads: After wondering Pier 39, we headed to the Aquarium of the Bay. Admission was part of our CityPASS and if it hadn’t been included, I’m not sure we would have visited it. All told, we spent about 30 minutes exploring the aquarium. We spent the most of our time in the Under the Bay exhibit. There were two types of jelly fish (Pacific Sea Nettle pictured to the left). The schools of anchovies in the first of the two tunnel tanks were impressive. I especially loved the sea stars, also found in the touch tank. The second tunnel tank contained sharks, rays, and sturgeon found in the deeper waters of San Francisco Bay. Shark species included all five local shark species: sevengills, leopard sharks, soupfin sharks, and spiny dogfish. The Touch the Bay exhibit included some terrestrial critters.

Next is a fun little layout I made in a speed scrap from that same trip. Journaling reads: After taking a break in our hotel room, we set out to ride a cable car to Fisherman’s Wharf. The California cable car line ends just one block from our hotel; however, repair on the line started in January, so we walked a few blocks to a stop for the Powell-Hyde line and rode it to the end of the line.

Each year, Heidi and Lori of Scraps N Pieces do a birthday kit for each other.  This is Heidi’s birthday kit, made by Lori.

Cool Beans puts the “awe” into “awesome.” This cheerful kit celebrates the important things in life: friends, fun, and believing in yourself. However, it is also versatile enough to be used to scrap anything you can imagine and plays well with other kits. Cool Beans combines a retro color palette with a trendy twist for perfectly patterned papers, super versatile elements, and super cool word art. This kit comes with flair, journal cards, and word art for accenting your page, as well as the flowers and banners and buttons you’ve come to love from Scraps N Pieces, and a perfect black stitched alpha for all your scrapping needs.
