I made two layouts. This first one is of Janette with her preschool teachers and her good friend Ada. The pictures were taken at their Thanksgiving picnic.

This second one contains some photos from way back in 2005 when my sister, brother and I surprised my parents with the addition of a 25th wedding anniversary celebration to my Dad’s 50th birthday celebration. It helped that I made the party invitations for my Mom. And then I baked the anniversary cake and brownie hearts at my mother-in-law’s house. Sometimes, it’s really handy that they both live in Midland. Look at those photos my Grandma with my Dad. I miss her.2016-02-01_LO_25th-Anniversary

Now you know I had to work with this fabulous kit since I am a former trombone player. I scrounged up some photos from my playing days for this first layout.

Colder Weather

Posted on by

January’s Scraps N Pieces Store Collab is all about colder weather. Colder Weather is full of the grays and blues of winter, plus reds and green. It has an awesome mix of elements: fun cold weather themed elements plus a generous assortment of generic elements, making this kit perfect for all kinds of layouts. There is a quick page pack available or you can buy the kit and the quick pages together in a bundle. Previews are linked.

Snow isn’t something I see a lot in central Texas, so I wasn’t sure initially what I wanted to scrap with Colder Weather. Then I saw the tree elements and I knew. I scrapped some photos from a recent overnight trip to San Antonio to visit Sea World and the Botanical Garden. Our trip was after Christmas, but Sea World was still decorated for the holidays and I knew this kit would be perfect. Not overtly Christmas-themed, yet perfect for the decorations. And that coral color worked great with the picture of the flamingos.

Journaling reads: We decided to make a quick overnight trip to San Antonio to have some family fun. In August, we had extended the girls’ free preschool summer passes to Sea World through the end of the year at a cost of $15 each, so we didn’t want that to go to waste. We drove to San Antonio and ate lunch at Sea Island Shrimp House before heading to Sea World. The ticketing area was decorated with a trio of beautiful blue trees. Jessica has become quite a photo diva and will pose for me. She even asks me to take her photo at times. Janette requires a bit more coaxing.
