Pretty As A Peacock Weathering the Storm Thankful

Take a look at some of the pages I made using the template bundle along with the great kits I used with them!

First up is layout from mine and James trip to Niagara Falls in May 2013. It uses Sensational Scraps Vol. 10 and one of my favorite Keystone Scraps kits, World Traveler, and some coordinating add-ons.

State of Mind: The West Coast

Queen Wild Scraps has an awesome new release today. Earlier this year, the monthly SNP store collab was a desert themed kit and Lahni had made some state templates as her portion of the collab. A number of the girls on the CT told her she needed to make more like that with all the states. And that is how State of Mind: West Coast came to be. I have two layouts to share using State of Mind: West Coast. First up uses the Hawaii template. This will be the cover page to my family’s Hawaiian vacation when I was 20. My Dad recently gave me CDs of his digital pictures. This second layout uses the California template. I resized the photo spots and used the state to journal a summary of our trip. This was our first out of two so far trips without kiddos. True North Scraps Sales

It’s the long weekend in May in Canada.  A quick history lesson before we get to the sale details…  This is known as the Victoria Day long weekend, intended to celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday, May 24th.  She was the queen when Canada became a country rather than a colony of Britain.  Originally the holiday was celebrated on May 24th only, but eventually it was changed to the 3rd weekend of May, which is usually close to the 24th.

Now a little trivia…  in Canada, they use the slang term “two four” when they are talking about a case of beer (24 bottles in a case).  They also don’t really give a hoot about Queen Victoria anymore because she died in 1901 and nobody from that time is alive anymore.  This weekend has become more known as the first weekend of summer.  Memo to Old Man Winter — time to go!

Since the May long weekend was originally May 24th, and since it is the first weekend of summer, there is a lot of beer consumed.  So some smarty-pants came up with the idea of calling it May Two-Four.  That became one of the nicknames of this holiday.

That leads me to the sale – finally!
