Adventures in Space

The Bits N Pieces from Karen Diamond Designs is called Adventures in Space. You can pick up the elements and the papers for only $1 each this week only.

I’m sharing another double page layout showcasing the rest of our nephew Cameron’s 4th birthday party. It was held at a really neat place. For my layout’s composition I was inspired by this fabulous layout by gwalters.

Blast Off

The Bits N Pieces from Amy’s Designs is called Blast Off. Amy previewed it to the CT right at the beginning of April when we had just got back from our trip to Keller for our nephew Cameron’s 4th birthday.

As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be perfect to scrap his party since he had a rocket cake with a blue and yellow decor. Here’s the double page layout. I’ve painted over the faces of the kids I don’t know. I know some parents are particular about their kids being on the internet.

Prehistoric Pals

I meant to post this yesterday, but alas we didn’t get home from our weekend road trip until 7:30 and after putting the girls to bed we just vegged in front of the TV. Anyhoo,  I have two layouts to share with you today.

First up is a layout about Jessica’s Tiny the Pteranodon action figure. At the time of Janette’s birth, she was really into Dinosaur Train, now it’s Franklin. She likes to tell me she wants to watch “my Franklin.” Journaling reads: “The weekend before Janette was born, we took Jessica shopping at Target so she could pick out a gift to give to her new sibling at the hospital whenever the baby decided to arrive. She didn’t completely understand, but we helped her choose a monkey toy that plays music and has a teething ring. The day after Janette was born, the girls exchanged gifts when Nanny brought Jessica to the hospital to see Mommy and baby. Janette gave Jessica a talking Tiny action figure. Jessica was quite excited about Tiny, which is quite evident by her tight grasp of Tiny in these pictures. ” I used a technique to make the main photo have a glowing effect. Second is a layout from our spring break road trip. Journaling reads: “Tuesday morning, we headed to Let’s Jump, an inflatable play place pretty close to the Witgen’s house. All of the kiddos had a blast. Even Janette had fun bouncing on the edge of one of the slides. The slides definitely were the favorite inflatables. Jessica wouldn’t even set foot in the bounce house with Trevor and Cameron. We were there during the under 5 playtime and they all showed patience when some of the smaller kids were slow in climbing the stairs to the top of the slide, which made us moms proud.”

Cousins

The first part of spring break, I took the girls to visit my sister and her family (James stayed home to continue his job search). Here’s a layout I made the first full day we were there. I made it Tuesday for a Speed Scrap and excitedly it was chosen as a Gallery Stand Out. Journaling reads: Both Trevor and Cameron were enamored with their baby cousin. Jessica wanted to make sure they knew Janette was her baby sister. And yes, Jessica didn’t want to wear clothes, about par for the course.

Family

Here is a layout I completed for two challenges. The first challenge was the Scrapbookbytes.com October Quote Challenge to use a quote about relationships. I really liked this quote by Desmond Tutu: “You don’t choose your family.  They are God’s gift to you, as you are to them.” The second challenge was the Scraps-N-Pieces October recipe challenge that required me to use journaling, a fastener (staple, brad, etc), a frame, at least 6 papers, and stitching. The hardest part of this challenge was the use of 6 papers. The pictures are from the Dzubinski family trip this past summer, both are thanks to my sister.
