School is Back in Session

Posted on by

Word Art World has a great new set of word art available now. School is Back in Session is perfect for this time of year.

I’ve decided that scrapbook pages make the perfect gift. Family and friends beware! 🙂 This layout showcases my niece. I just realized that Aspen is my only niece. Five nephews, but only one niece. Aspen started kindergarten this year and she is really enjoying it.2014-09-09_LO_Aspen-First-Day-of-Kindergarten

Gingerscraps September Buffet

Posted on by

Are you ready for the exciting news? Queen Wild Scraps is guesting at Gingerscraps this month. Woohoo! She has two template sets in this month’s Buffet. Something Simple Vol. 4 has a lot of fun hexagon shapes. The Big Picture Vol. 3 is perfect to really show off one of your beautiful photos.

Here is my layout using Something Simple Vol. 4. Journaling reads: “We left our house in Austin at 6 AM CST when the temperature was in the 20s. We arrived at San Jose International Airport at 9:25 AM PST where the temperature was probably around 60°F. A free short VTA shuttle took us to the Santa Clara Caltrain Station. From there, we took a local train to the end of the line in San Francisco. I enjoyed the approximately 1.5 hour ride. It was relaxing and the scenery was nice. A lot of the stations we stopped at along the way had neat old buildings.”

S4H: Canadian Rockies

Posted on by

I finished the album I was making for my parent’s trip through the Canadian Rockies a while back, so these layouts have been in my queue to share for some time. I hope you enjoy them. Creating the album was like traveling with them for me.2014-08-27_LO_Kananaski_Heli_Tour

State of Mind: The West Coast

Posted on by

Queen Wild Scraps has an awesome new release today. Earlier this year, the monthly SNP store collab was a desert themed kit and Lahni had made some state templates as her portion of the collab. A number of the girls on the CT told her she needed to make more like that with all the states. And that is how State of Mind: West Coast came to be. Don’t worry if you don’t like these states, Lahni has enough State of Mind template sets planned to cover all fifty states. You can pick up State of Mind: West Coast today through August 28th for 40% off.

I have two layouts to share using State of Mind: West Coast. First up uses the Hawaii template. This will be the cover page to my family’s Hawaiian vacation when I was 20. My Dad recently gave me CDs of his digital pictures. I need to scan the negatives before scrapping anymore, since there are very few photos of my Dad taken with his camera. 2014-08-21_LO_Hawaii-Vacation-Cover

This second layout uses the California template. I resized the photo spots and used the state to journal a summary of our trip. This was our first out of two so far trips without kiddos. As our kiddos are 4 and 2 and we’ve traveled in 2011 and 2013, maybe we’ll make it a every other year tradition.2014-08-21_LO_Cover-Page

2014-08-09_082014_GGI

My family has always been a big gaming family. Growing up, I remember numerous games of Scrabble. Once us kids become adults, Cranium has been our game of choice, since you can play teams. Don’t want to leave out the spouses, you know. This layout shows a Cranium match from last Christmas.
