Travelogue Minnesota

Posted on by

I absolutely adore Connie Prince’s Travelogue Series. The latest installment in the series is Travelogue Minnesota available at Gingerscraps and the The Digi Chick!

The only time I’ve been to Minnesota was a layover on my way to Madison, WI. The weather was not the greatest, so it did turn into a 6-hour layover. My friends Katie and Stacy, whom I was traveling with to attend the ASCE Student Confence, and I did leave the airport and hit up the Mall of America, but alas I don’t have any pictures to prove that. Now, my sister-in-law’s brother does live in Minnesota and I remembered that my brother, sister-in-law, and niece did travel to Minnesota when he got married, so I asked Julia to share some photos and I decided to scrap these two on the shore of Lake Superior. Lake Superior does look mighty massive.

I decided to scrap some non-Minnesota photos too. I did add a flair and some greenery from Travelogue New York, but I thought Travelogue Minnesota worked quite well to scrap these photos of High Falls in Rochester, NY. That trip in 2013 was the last trip James and I took just the two of us. I had hoped for us to sneak away this summer too, but it didn’t quite work out. Next summer though!

June Template Bundle

Posted on by

I’m a little behind in blogging. I have quite a few half started posts. I will try to catch up. Connie Prince’s June Template Bundle is already broken up into the individual template sets, so they’re no longer quite the deal, but they’re still fabulous template sets. I do love Connie’s templates.

I used two of the sets. The first one is In Pieces, Vol 9. You can pick it up at Gingerscraps or The Digi Chick. I think the In Pieces series makes some really fun “quilted” layouts.

I also used Busy Bees, Connie’s contribution to the Gingerscraps Buffet this month.

I decided to scrap this really neat photo of my maternal grandmother. My Mom thinks the photo was taken about 1970, so I will update the layout with a c.1970 before I have it printed.

The second set I used is White Space Vol 19. You can pick it up at Gingerscraps or The Digi Chick.

I am personally not a big white space scrapper, because they usually like to make the photos small and that is not my style. However, if you use a large photo as the background, it changes the whole concept and I love it. This layout with the New River Gorge Bridge taking center stage is a new favorite layout and surprisingly the first layout I’ve completed of our West Virginia trip back in 2011.

Boho Chic

Sometimes life goes by too fast and we need to kick off our shoes, embrace the uncertainty of life, and make memories. This sort of bohemian lifestyle has been coming back in a big way. Scrap about these moments with the latest kit from Scraps N Pieces, Boho Chic. This whimsical, candy-hued kit captures the essence of a bohemian lifestyle. Playful patterned papers complement your photos without competing and can be layered to add extra charm. Owls, stitching, and ephemera abound. Metallic elements and a fun and funky metal alpha bring to mind found objects. Everything ties together perfectly without being too matchy-matchy so you can document your wandering spirit with Boho Chic.

This kit is 1/2 off May 1-7 at their Scraps N Pieces store and should be in their My Memories store later this week.  You can also grab Template Pack 26 for just $1 this week.

Template Pack 26 – just $1 this week.

I made two layouts with this kit of a recent girls trip I made with some of my MOPS friends. The spring leadership training was in San Antonio and Shannon, Becky, Debbie, and I went up Friday night for some girl time before the training. It was so nice to getaway with friends. We at dinner at Beto’s, a neat little restaurant serving empanadas. The food was good. The service was a little lacking. Then we just hung at out hotel, talking, playing games, and Shannon painted everyone’s fingernails. The training on Saturday was great. And my two layouts focus on that.
