Backlog of Layouts

I have a back log of layouts to share with you today. They were all created for either a speed scrap or a forum challenge.

First up is one I had intended to share on my parent’s 34th anniversary this year, but I got side tracked and forgot. It has some then and now photos. Well, sorta now photos. The now photos were from their 30th anniversary celebrations in 2010, a family party my siblings and I surprised them with and their celebratory trip.

Last Christmas I made my sister-in-law two quilted cathedral potholders and quite a few layouts I had printed out for her. I’ve decided that I’m going to give her some each Christmas. She really liked the ones I gave her this past Christmas. This layout includes a great picture of her as a baby. Her dad died when she was just a few years old, so I know she will love this layout.

This one showcases my in-laws wedding. It seems so weird seeing all that hair on my FIL. He’s been bald on top as long as I’ve known him.

This is my Grandma when when she was either 20 or 21. Not sure what part of 1951 the photos were taken. She was a real looker, wasn’t she?

Ironically, this photo was taken when James and I celebrated our anniversary in 2013. Jason and Julia took care of the girls while we had dinner and I snapped this photo when we picked Janette up after dinner (Jessica spent the night with her cousin).

Here’s a family tree layout for my sister. The three boy photos were from last year, but the photo of them was from this January. Sadly, I couldn’t find a good photo of the two of them from last year. This year, I’m making an effort to get couple shots.

Lovely Life Vol. 2

Amy’s Designs has a great new release today. Lovely Life Vol. 2 is the next in her P52/Project Life Series. With the days of the week and small paper patterns, it is perfect to document your everyday life. However, with it’s fun color scheme, you can use it to scrap just about anything.

Last year, I found out about College Colors Day, so I made it a point to wear UTSA colors. I’m not so fond of the photo, but I think most people don’t really like photos of themselves. However, I know my girls love to look at photos and point to me or James and say “that’s Mommy” or “that’s Daddy.”

Five Layouts

I realized I have a back log of layouts I haven’t shared here on my blog yet, so here are a number of them in no particular order.

This layout features Janette on her first day wearing her orthotic helmet.

I’m really happy with how this next layout, a speed scrap layout, turned out. I made it shortly after finding out my Dad had been diagnosed with cancer and I wanted to document how I am really my father’s daughter. It garnered me a layout of the day award at Scrapbookbytes.

Journaling reads: My Dad and I both enjoy taking photos and planning trips. I definitely know that my desire to type up an itinerary and label my photos comes from him. We also both like to read historical markers and look at maps. Out of all of my siblings, I am the only one who takes just as many photos of the architecture as my Dad. He’s always there when I need his advice. I can’t imagine life without him.

This layout was made during my photoshop techniques class. The technique was align and distribute, which I used on the title and subtitle.

This was another speed scrap layout. It’s interesting how for the most part my most recent vacation destinations are my favorite.

This is about our neighborhood’s Christmas party. Journaling reads: Before leaving the holiday party, we paused on the community center lawn so the girls could run and twirl in the falling “snow” from the snow machine.
