State of Mind: Atlantic Coast

Queen Wild Scrap’ recently released the next set in her US state templates series. State of Mind: Atlantic Coast is perfect if a visit to all 50 states is on your bucket list. However, these templates are quite versatile and don’t even have to be used to scrap a travel memory.

State of Mind: The West Coast

Queen Wild Scraps has an awesome new release today. Earlier this year, the monthly SNP store collab was a desert themed kit and Lahni had made some state templates as her portion of the collab. A number of the girls on the CT told her she needed to make more like that with all the states. And that is how State of Mind: West Coast came to be. I have two layouts to share using State of Mind: West Coast. First up uses the Hawaii template. This will be the cover page to my family’s Hawaiian vacation when I was 20. My Dad recently gave me CDs of his digital pictures. This second layout uses the California template. I resized the photo spots and used the state to journal a summary of our trip. This was our first out of two so far trips without kiddos. Angles and Arrows

Here’s my two layouts using two of the four templates. Both of them contain relatively recent photos of my big girl. The first layout showcases her favorite activity, crafting. Journaling reads: Jessica loves arts and crafts. She spends time each day creating. Today, during Janette’s nap, I let her get out the paints. Second up is even more recent. This was the first of what will potentially be many times of Jessica playing with my hair. Reminds me of when I was a kid and my sister would play with my hair. Journaling reads: Jessica spent almost an hour brushing my hair and putting clips, bows, and barrettes in it. She kept asking me if I wanted to look like Fancy Nancy or Rapunzel. We then had a fun photo shoot.

Color Pop

Word Art World has a great new kit out. Color Pop has neutral papers with colorful elements, allowing you to make layouts that really pop. It’s a huge kit with 191 elements and 20 papers plus an alpha that comes in nine colors. You can pick it up at Gotta Pixel or Gingerscraps.

I have two layouts to share using Color Pop. For the first, I highlighted just a single color with the black and white papers. Journaling reads: I pulled out the water table for the first time this year. Jessica and Janette had a lot of fun. They both got quite wet and wanted to go put on their swim suits. I should have known that was going to happen. I told them they could put on dry clothes when they were finished playing, but we didn’t have time to go put swim suits on and come back outside and play. They decided to strip down to undies/diaper. Their happiness made me happy. I love to watch them learn and have fun. March 17, 2014

The second highlights photos from our anniversary celebration this year. I ended up adjusting the color of James’ shirt slightly so the blue fit more with the turquoise in the kit. Journaling reads: We celebrated our tenth anniversary by having dinner at Baby Acapulco followed by an evening of comedy at the Long Center. The Colin Mochrie & Brad Sherwood: Two Man Group show was very funny.
