Cinderella’s Castle

Scraps N Pieces offered a six-week photoshop techniques workshop and it was free. I had a lot of fun learning how to use the PSE11 I purchased back in November. Previously, I used Corel Paintshop Pro for photo editing and Serif CraftArtist for digital scrapbooking. Now I can use PSE11 for both, although I will still be using CA for most of digital scrapbooking. It is so easy to use.

Our last week of class including cloning, healing and dodge burn techniques. I was ecstatic when I found out what the techniques for the week were, because I had the perfect photo to edit. When we went on our Disney cruise back in January, we had one day to spend at Disney World. We chose to only visit Magic Kingdom on our park hopper pass. Going during the slow season has it’s downsides, construction. The construction didn’t really affect our enjoyment of the park, but it did effect my enjoyment of this photo. Snow is Glistenin’

Amy’s Designs has a new release today. Obviously, she loves snow as her last release was snow themed as well. I love the colors in this one and can see it being used for a totally non-snowy layout as well.Amys_SIG_Preview

I have two layouts to share using this kit. They will be side by side in my scrapbook album. The photos are from Thanksgiving 2007. I totally enjoyed this snowfall as I went out while it was softly falling and took a ton of pictures. I narrowed it down to the 15 photos on the 2 pages.

Journaling reads: “Thanksgiving in Midland this year was pretty special. It snowed. After the big Thanksgiving meal midday, I headed outside to photograph the falling snow. Later, we went outside and took some couple photographs: Mom & Dad, Jason & Julia with Bella, and James & me.”

There hasn’t been any snow this year. Maybe next year Janette will get to experience it.

Playing Catch-Up…

Next up is a layout of Jessica helping bake cookies November 30, 2011. Journaling reads “Jessica helped me bake Sugar Drop cookies to take to my MOPS meeting the following day. She enjoyed rolling the cookie dough in sugar and placing on the cookie sheet, at least for a little while.” I made this during a speed scrap in May.

And finally here is a layout of Janette when she fell asleep in her high chair. Journaling reads: “Janette is going through a stage where she is not a very good napper. She will only take 2-3 little catnaps during the day. You know this really takes its toll when she falls asleep while you’re trying to feed her peas. May 10, 2012 – 6 months old” This was also made during a speed scrap. Do you like my cheesy title? 😉 FYI, her napping has improved since these photos were taken, at least most of the time.
