A Wing & A Prayer

Posted on by

It’s Grab-a-Byte time at Scrapbookbytes. That means one color swatch, lots of fun designs.

GAB

Connie Prince designed a beautiful kit with a religious theme. However, it is a very versatile kit. I used it for a wedding layout. Each pack is $1 today through February 16th.cap_FebGABSale

Here’s a closer look at the kit itself (elements and papers).

cap_awingandaprayerJames and I just bought a new scanner. It arrived Saturday. Yesterday afternoon, Jessica helped me scan a number of things. Quality control, right. One of the things we scanned, was album of photos from James’ parents’ wedding. I felt this kit had the perfect colors to complement the photos. The photo of Olivia with her bridesmaids show it better as they wore blue; but I decided to scrap the cake photos first. Don’t they look young? This year, they’ll celebrate their 37th anniversary.2014-02-10_LO_Cake

Captured by You

Posted on by

It’s Gotta Grab It time at Gotta Pixel. This month’s color swatch is pretty fun.

Feb2014GGIWord Art World has five fun packs you can pick up for $1 today through February 14th. Initially, she was considering a project life type kit with these colors, but one of my fellow CT members suggested doing a Valentine’s Day theme playing up the non-traditional colors. Thus, Captured by You was born. Personally, I’m so glad she went with the love theme as I love it.

GGI0214_capturedbyyou_el GGI0214_capturedbyyou_pp1 GGI0214_capturedbyyou_pp2 GGI0214_capturedbyyou_walp GGI0214_capturedbyyou_wsI made two love layouts. First up is a vintage photo of James’ grandparents. Since it was a photo from the 70s, I went with rounded corners on the photo and photo mat.2014-02-08_LO_Cecil-and-Freda

Second is a layout of Jessica’s school friend, Lana, at their school Valentine’s picnic/party last year. Somehow, I don’t think they’ll be having a picnic on Valentine’s Day this year. It’s amazing to watch Jessica and her friends grow. Lana used to be so shy around me. Now her personality just shines.2014-02-08_LO_Valentine's-Day-Lana

Here’s my layout using Lovely Life Volume 1. I’m trying to do a P52 album again this year. So far, I’m finished up through week 3, so I think I’m doing pretty good.

So how did you like that game? Super huh?  I hope your team won.  True North Scraps has a fun new kit called First and Goal.  The kit is full of fun papers and elements to match either of the teams you were rooting for. You can find the kit at Scraps N Pieces, Go Digital Scrapbooking, Heritage Scrap, and My Memories. Same fabulous kit, just pick your favorite store to shop for True North Scraps products!

I actually used the kit to scrap a team that wasn’t even in the big game. This is a layout of my brother and his kids celebrating a victory by his favorite team.

Winter Play

Amy’s Designs has a new kit releasing today, Winter Play. It is a super cute winter kit with bright colors to match the bright colors of you kids snowsuits. There’s a bunch of adorable playing in the snow elements, yet enough non-themed ones to make this a super versatile kit.
Amys_WP_PreviewAmys_WP_PaperPreviewI have two layouts. Surprisingly, I have two wintry layouts. The first one dates back to 1998 and the second is this past December of my two oldest nephews playing in the snow.2014-01-23_LO_Snow-Day
