Be a Pineapple and Template Pack 37

Posted on April 1, 2018 by Jennifer

Sometimes life gives us lemons and we need a little break, a little something to put us in a relaxing state of mind. Be A Pineapple is a tropical paradise of inspiration, crammed into a scrapbooking kit. The bright colors, playful art style, and motivational journal cards are perfect for carving out your little chunk of sweetness. There’s plenty of wildlife (including birds, crabs, and a sea turtle), sandcastles, and surfboards, palm trees, sunshine, sea shells, and pineapples to whisk you away to a happy place. But the happiness doesn’t stop there: banners, flowers, bold patterned papers, and a wooden alpha add some more fun to your page. So give yourself a pick-me-up and take some time to scrap those precious memories with Be A Pineapple.

Pick up this bundle for our April 2018 Buffet – or you can pick up solids, patterned papers, embellishments, alpha, journal cards, and template pack 37 all separately. (Template pack not included in bundle.)

I decided to scrap some more of our Tahitian holiday. These two pages document the pineapple plantation part of our 4×4 tour on Mo’orea.

Sail Away

Posted on March 6, 2018 by Jennifer

Sail Away is the perfect kit for all your cruising adventures. Its color palette brings to mind the open sea, blue skies, turquoise waters, white sand beaches, and the bright sunny days spent on vacation. Much like a cruise ship, there’s plenty to see, including bold patterned papers, luxurious solids, sandy textured papers, and watercolor papers too. But it’s the elements that add the adventure in this kit. There are deck chairs, sandcastles, bikinis and flip flops for those days in port; snorkelers, dolphins, and whales for excursions; word strips for popular ports of call, a glossy blue alpha and, of course, several different cruise ships. So if your heart is still in international waters, scrap those spectacular cruise views with Sail Away.

For the Buffet this month we have two paper packs, embellishments, alpha, word bits and a new template pack.  Or you can buy the bundle that includes everything except for the templates which are sold separately.  These packs are available exclusively at Gingerscraps this month and will be in My Memories next month.

All products are on sale this week.

I have some layouts that document Ketchikan. First up is a double layout. Journaling reads: Mom, Dad, Sarah, Brian, Cameron, Trevor, Rylan, Jessica and Janette boarded the Lighthouse Endeavour for the Lighthouse, Totems, & Eagles boating excursion. They sailed by Totem Bight State Park, home to Ketchikan’s tallest totem pole. They circled the island that is home to the historic Guard Island Lighthouse, built in 1903. Throughout the tour, they saw numerous bald eagles. The scenic tour also had views of the Vallenar Rocks Wildlife Viewing Area, remnants of a floating lumberjack camp, many mansions and homes, as well as 12 islands, including Danger Island, Alaska’s most dangerous island.

And here’s a close-up of the left and right sides.

And I have one more layout of this particular excursion.

You Make Me Happy

Posted on February 17, 2018 by Jennifer

It’s Heidi’s birthday week and here is her annual birthday kit that Lori designed for her!

Life is more than just the major milestones and your scrapbook should tell those small stories too. You Make Me Happy is the perfect kit for those special people who enrich your life. Playful patterned papers and timeless elements add a touch of whimsy and brightness to your page. Floral motifs, wood, ephemera, butterflies, and metal birds steal the show in the kit – but still leave the emphasis on your photos. Even the bright, cheery alpha and banners manage to compliment without overwhelming. After all, it’s all about who – or what – makes your memories stand out. You Make Me Happy pairs nicely with many other Scraps N Pieces kits to help stretch your stash. You can combine it with your favorite kit to bring in colors that match your photos perfectly. Or, if this kit makes you happy, just start scrapping!

50% off this week at GINGERSCRAPS and MyMemories

My two layouts today document some more of MOMcon 2016.

National Treasure

Posted on January 3, 2018 by Jennifer

While the United States has plenty to be proud of, its history is perhaps the most remarkable of all. Many a scholar and proud American alike have found themselves waxing poetic about it… and us scrapbookers have certainly filled our bookshelves with history – both American and our own. National Treasure pays tribute to the people, places, and stories that make our national great. This kit’s bright hues of red, white, and blue are perfect for the Fourth of July, visits to Washington D.C., or hitting up historic battlefields and monuments across the country. Featured elements include the White House, Capitol Building, Washington and Lincoln Monuments, the Statue of Liberty, a cannon, a cherry blossom tree in bloom, and the American Flag. There is also a pack of important quotes, highlighting some of the history of our storied pasts. Whether you’re scrapping a story of “four score and seven years ago” or your most recent visit to the history museum, tell your most treasured stories with National Treasure.

Here is the link for the bundle at Gingerscraps.  You can get all the individual pieces also there at Gingerscraps and at MyMemories.

When I first saw this kit, I wasn’t sure what to scrap since I’ve never visited Washington, D.C. However, then I spied the Statue of Liberty and a light bulb went off. I pulled the pics from my high school band’s trip to NYC and scanned them. Unfortunately, a bunch of the roll of the pictures I took must have gotten overexposed. I cleaned them up as best as I could and felt pretty great to get four. The only one I was disappointed about was the small famiLEE group photo I was a part of. It wasn’t fixable. Thankfully, I did buy the 8×10 full group photo, so that got scanned as well.

I also wanted to use the new template pack and some of the great word art, so I chose to scrap this photo of my paternal grandfather. Ironically, he enlisted on February 7th, which also happens to be the birthday of his oldest (my Dad) and youngest children. Of course, they weren’t born until a number of years later. My Dad was nine when he got a sister for a birthday present.
