Adventures in the Everglades

“The River of Grass” is the life-blood of the South Florida ecosystem and a love of its waters fills the hearts of locals. The latest kit by Scraps N Pieces, Adventures in the Everglades, captures this love and brings it to a scrapbook page. This warm, inviting bundle draws heavily on the greens of the river’s grasses, the blues of the water and sky, and pops of yellow and brown from flowers and trees. Adventures in the Everglades features elements from the wild Glades, including alligators, an airboat, cattails and sawgrass, a heron, and lillypads galore. This kit also comes with a set of word strips featuring favorite locations and activities from Everglades National Park. Splash right in and enjoy the fun of Adventures in the Everglades! It was made at the request of CT Member Brenda after taking a trip with her mom to the Everglades.

Dandelion Wishes

Dandelion Wishes is the lastest kit from Scraps N Pieces. A member of the CT gave them the idea for this kit and it turned out beautifully! Wait till you see the layouts everyone did. Dandelion Wishes pieces are all on sale for $1 each this week. You can also pick up Template Pack 9 for just $1 this week as well.

As soon as I saw the finished kit, I knew I wanted to scrap some heritage pages. This first one is James’ mom with her grandmother.

On the Boardwalk

The July SNP store collab is really fun this month. On the Boardwalk has a great color scheme that would be perfect for patriotic layouts, but it is wide enough to be used for a variety of layouts. I love the quantity of floral elements in it, plus the themed elements are really lively. Check out that neat patio chair.

I decided to scrap photos from a birthday party at Kiddie Acres. I got on a roll and scrapped five pages to cover the event.

Journaling reads: January 11, 2014 Harper invited Jessica to her 4th birthday party. It was held at Kiddie Acres, a neat amusement park in north Austin geared to children 10 and younger. Initially, Jessica wasn’t too sure about some of the rides, but seeing her friends enjoy the rides prompted her to give them a try. Jessica and Janette’s first ride was the miniature train. James rode with them while I snapped photos. It wasn’t long before they rode just about every ride, except the pony ride. The weather ended up being really nice and it was a beautiful time celebrating Harper’s birthday.

Journaling reads: Each guest was given their very own unicorn horn as a party favor. Jessica loved it and wore it quite a bit during the party. You could tell that Lena, Harper’s mom, put a lot of effort into making them.

A Fresh Start

Spring is a time of renewal. The snow melts away, flowers begin to bloom, and some people decide it’s a great time to clean their house. Even though I haven’t scrapped Janette’s baptism yet, I decided to scrap my nephew Rylan’s baptism. I want to scrap hers with a purple color scheme. However, I am still waiting on my sister to let me know the priest’s name.
