Tell Me the Stories

Posted on September 1, 2014 by Jennifer

This months Bits-N-Pieces was such a fun palette and theme to work with. Scraps N Pieces decided that since the theme was, Learning, Knowledge, and Wisdom that we would do a kit about stories from the Bible. This kit not only includes many of the favorite characters from those stories, but the colors are neutral enough many other layouts. So, we have a fun alpha, themed elements, basic elements, papers, and themed word bits. You can grab any of these packs for only $1.00 each for the first week.

Tammy made this super cute Word Art pack. Don’t forget to grab them.

I really like the bible story aspect, but I didn’t end up using it quite as much as I wanted in my two layouts. The first one showcases the group photo of all the volunteers for Vacation Bible School this past June.

Second is a layout of Janette playing with Parker, when we met Kara, Madeline (one of Jessica’s school friends) and Parker for an impromptu play date at the neighborhood playground. Journaling reads: “We met up with Kara, Madeline and Parker for an impromptu playdate at the Capistrano playground. Madeline and Jessica spent a fair bit of time searching the gravel play area for crystals. Janette and Parker thought the smaller slide was too hot, so they decided to toss/roll rocks down it instead.”

S4H: Canadian Rockies

I finished the album I was making for my parent’s trip through the Canadian Rockies a while back, so these layouts have been in my queue to share for some time. I hope you enjoy them. Creating the album was like traveling with them for me.

Walt Disney World 2014 Layouts

Posted on August 26, 2014 by Jennifer

One of my favorite things about our recent Disney trip was the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth show at Epcot right at closing.

I especially liked this photo of my sweet girls watching the show, but it was rather dark. So I used the Auto Smart Fix to enhance the image.

This is the layout I created with it. It was my week 3 entry for the annual Scrap It to Win It contest over at Scraps N Pieces.

Here’s another layout. This covers our plane ride to Orlando.

State of Mind: The West Coast

Posted on August 21, 2014 by Jennifer

Queen Wild Scraps has an awesome new release today. Earlier this year, the monthly SNP store collab was a desert themed kit and Lahni had made some state templates as her portion of the collab. A number of the girls on the CT told her she needed to make more like that with all the states. And that is how State of Mind: West Coast came to be. Don’t worry if you don’t like these states, Lahni has enough State of Mind template sets planned to cover all fifty states. You can pick up State of Mind: West Coast today through August 28th for 40% off.

I have two layouts to share using State of Mind: West Coast. First up uses the Hawaii template. This will be the cover page to my family’s Hawaiian vacation when I was 20. My Dad recently gave me CDs of his digital pictures. I need to scan the negatives before scrapping anymore, since there are very few photos of my Dad taken with his camera.

This second layout uses the California template. I resized the photo spots and used the state to journal a summary of our trip. This was our first out of two so far trips without kiddos. As our kiddos are 4 and 2 and we’ve traveled in 2011 and 2013, maybe we’ll make it a every other year tradition.

Circles and Scallops Vol 5

Posted on August 16, 2014 by Jennifer

Queen Wild Scraps has a new set of templates this week. Circles and Scallops Vol 5 is super curvy. These are perfect templates for white space lovers, paper hoarders, and excessive shutterbugs. Can you believe that all those people will be happy with four templates? I promise you. Lahni aims to please.

Here’s my layout using one of these fun templates.
