Gee, how time flies. Yesterday, Jessica turned five months old. I am so loving being a Mom. It is the best job ever!
Everything goes in Jessica’s mouth now. Her thumb, her fingers, James’ arm/hand, my hair, toys, even her toes. Today, she even pulled off her sock so that she could put her foot in her mouth.
She really enjoys bath time. She likes to lean forward to play with the toes. She hasn’t quite mastered staying in a sitting position by herself yet, so we have to keep her from laying down face forward in the water.
Isn’t her hair getting long? I almost wonder if I shouldn’t trim it in the front, but I kinda brush it to the side so it’s not in her eyes call that sufficient.
She moves quite a bit when she’s sleeping, especially at naptime. At night too, unless she is in a sleep sack. She still is napping two times a day. Her morning nap is typically about one hour and her afternoon nap is about two hours. It often starts in the stroller on our daily walk. However, I might have to switch the walk to before her morning nap before too long, otherwise we’ll be too hot.
Jessica is still only breastfed. We’ve got the high chair put together now and will start solid food by 6 months or possibly sooner. She’s still happy with the four times a day she nurses. Only when she feeds from a bottle, does she seem like she wants more. When nursing, she will usually turn away and want to play. My guess is that she weighs about 15.5 pounds, maybe even 16.
I’m having fun dressing her up. Yesterday she wore these adorable leggings. She was very stylish.
Jessica is quite the mover. We need to start baby-proofing. She rolls from her back to her tummy and from her tummy to her back all the time. She almost prefers to be on her tummy. Quite frequently she has rolled herself off her activity mat and under the coffee table. When on her tummy, she can turn herself 360 degrees and can scoot backwards. She hasn’t started scooting forward or crawling yet, but it’s not far off.
Glad to see Jessica doing so well! That would be pretty funny if you’re prediction on her weight was right because I’m pretty sure that’s what Aspen weighs. Although since she has been eating more solids I think she has started to put on the pounds. I think you should put a bow in that little girls hair everyday 🙂
What a sweetie pie !!!!!!!! All of her pictures are just too cute, love the leggings. We are glad Jessica is doing well. Yes, being a Mom is the best job there is.
