Autumn on My Mind

Autumn is definitely on my mind. I can’t wait until we get some fall weather, although I’m sure it’s still a few weeks away for central Texas. Yesterday’s high was 82°F and it has to be under 80°F for me to consider it fall. We did dip into the 50s for the low, so we’re getting close. This month I had the chance to work with a kit from Grace Blossoms 4 You. It is called Autumn on My Mind. It is a fun fall kit with lots of colorful leaves and pretty flowers. Today is the last day to pick it up on sale for 50% off.

I have three layouts to share using this kit. The first is a school photo of my sister-in-law.

At the Pool

Word Art World recently released a great new word art pack. It is perfect for all those pool photos from the summer.

I have a two-page layout using three of the word art. I used one for the title, one for a subtitle for the photo of Jason and one as kind of a watermark for the journal mat. These photos are from Labor Day weekend. Journaling reads: Both Saturday and Sunday after naptime (quiet time), we drove to Jason’s house so the kiddos and some of the adults could go swimming. It was really fun to watch all the cousins having a ball splashing and swimming. Cameron really enjoyed using the snorkel mask. Jessica was utilizing her newly acquired swimming skills. Janette just floated about. Trevor had fun jumping into the pool. Aspen thought it quite fun when Aunt Sarah lifted her up in the air and she jumped. Brian only swam on Sunday and he and James had fun tossing two balls simultaneously.

Grease is the Word

Woohoo! A “boy” kit!! I know they are not easy to find in digi-world. So you should get excited over this one:

The word cute doesn’t do this kit justice! I love the happy mechanics and check out that tow truck.

There are a total of 34 elements and 20 papers, plus an uppercase and lowercase alpha that includes punctuation. For the month of September it is exclusively available at Scraps N Pieces.

Here’s a layout I made using this fun kit. Journaling reads: I’ve always loved taking photos, but since having kids, I am constantly taking pictures. The Canon Powershot S3 IS camera that we had purchased back in fall 2006 broke in October. It had just gotten bumped by me and left within arms reach of the girls too many times.. The last bump/fall caused the lens to get stuck and not go in or out. After I received a new camera for Christmas from my parents, James decided to see if he could fix the old one. He got it all taken apart and even if he had been able to fix the problem, I’m not sure he would have been able to put it all back together. There were so many tiny screws.

We ended up taking Jessica to her pediatrician’s walk-in Saturday morning clinic hours yesterday. She has walking pneumonia. Hopefully, with antibiotics, she kicks it quickly.

And last, I have a layout made for last month’s template challenge at SNP. Journaling reads: After Jessica’s Tiny Tumblers class, we out for dinner. While we waited for our food, Jessica and Daddy did the word find on the kid’s menu together. Jessica is getting really good at recognizing all her letters. She’ll see something and ask “What word does [it] start with?” When we tell her which letter, that will start a barrage of words. I love her desire to learn.

Vacation Bible School

I’m very excited to be guest creative team member for Connie Prince for the month of July. I was able to get started a little early with this wonderful North Meets South Studios (Connie’s collab name with Trixie Scraps Designs) kit titled Vacation Bible School. The timing was perfect as we had Vacation Bible School at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church the week before last.

Here’s my first layout using this fun kit. It is about my volunteer efforts at VBS. Journaling reads: “This was my second year as the leader of preschool crafts for Vacation Bible School at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church. My two helpers, McKenna and Rachel (middle school students), and I would take our tote bin with the days craft from classroom to classroom. During our break we would do prep work for a future craft or finish up the crafts (like apply the contact paper to make the placemats water resistant). On the last day, we distributed the Everyone Fun Fair bags filled with all the crafts.”
